Özet
Küreselleşme olgusu her geçen gün hızını daha da arttırmaktadır. Bu süreç içerisinde küreselleşmeyi üreten ve ona yön veren kentler de önemli ana aktörler olarak dikkat çekmektedirler. Ekonomi, sosyo-kültür ve siyaset gibi alanlarda dünyaya yön veren küresel kentler; başta içinde bulundukları ülkeler olmak üzere, çevre bölgeler ve dünyanın geri kalanı için stratejik öneme sahiptirler. Dolayısıyla bilimsel ve profesyonel anlayışla bu kentlerin özelliklerini ve sırlamalarını tespit eden endeksler geliştirilmektedir. Bu endekslerde Türkiye’den de kentler yer almaktadır. Bu çalışma ile amaçlanan; Türkiye kentlerinin küresel kentler arasındaki konumlarını tespit etmektir. Çalışma kapsamında tarama modelinin alt uygulaması olan genel tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır ve küresel kentleri değerlendiren en nitelikli beş endekste Türkiye kentlerinin konumları araştırılmıştır. Yapılan araştırmada, küresel kent endekslerinde Türkiye’den sadece İstanbul ve Ankara’nın yer aldığı görülmüştür. Genel olarak sıralamalarda İstanbul’un konumu 23 ile 96 arasında, Ankara’nın konumu ise 75 ile 164 arasındadır. İstanbul, bu çalışma kapsamında incelenen 5 endekste de kendisine yer bulurken, Ankara ise 3 tanesinde yer alabilmiştir.
The speed of the phenomenon of globalization increases each passing day. In this process, the cities that produce and rule the globalization have been important actors. Global cities which are directing the world in areas such as economy, socio-culture and politics; have strategic importance for their countries, for the surrounding regions and the rest of the world. Therefore, the indexes with the scientific and professional understanding are developed to determine the characteristics of these cities. Cities from Turkey are located in these indexes too. The aim of this study is to determine positions of Turkey's cities among the global cities. Within the scope of study, general screening method was used to evaluate the positions of Turkey's cities via most qualified five global city indexes. In these reviews it has seen that, only Istanbul and Ankara are taking place in the global city indexes from Turkey. In general, position of Istanbul in the indexes is between 23 and 96, position of Ankara is between 75 and 164.
