Özet
Looking at the first actions of defining the art, the concepts of "reflection", "metaphors" and "imitation" are frequently seen. Many researchers agree that the most important feature of art is to reflect nature, human and life. For this, there is a connection between art and reality. However, ideas about the nature of reality have differed throughout the history. In this context, occurring the contradictory discourses shows great intensity especially in postmodern theory. In other words, the judgment of reality and value has undergone variations over time. Different art schools and time periods had different realities. This difference is more pronounced in literary products. The perception of reality and esthetics of the traditional, modern and postmodern literatures differ. In this case, both the style of period and the style of time can be mentioned. The aim of this paper is to reveal comparatively how to Herta Muller, Paul Auster and Metin Kacan reflect the basic characteristics of the postmodern according to their perception of esthetics by making distinctions of the style of period and the style of time on the theoretical plane and by examining the style of time in the novels of them.
