According to the most recent modifications in the taxonomy of the genus Hippomarathrum, taxa that grow in Southwest Asia and Caucasus, namely Hippomarathrum microcarpum, H. scabrum and H. boissieri were evaluated in the genus Bilacunaria M. Pimen. & V. Tichomirov while the taxa that grow in the Mediterranean province, namely H. crassilobum and H. cristatum, were evaluated in the genus Cachrys L. It was concluded that the two different specimens collected from Antalya-Akseki and Muğla-Seki are new species (Bilacunaria aksekiense sp. nov. and Bilacunaria anatolica sp. nov.) belonging to the genus Bilacunaria. In this study, naturally growing Hippomarathrum Link taxa of Turkey were investigated ? from the point of view of morphological, karyological, palynological and anatomy of fruit features. Identification keys to genera Bilacunaria and Cachrys were arranged with the more extensive descriptions of the taxa. Identification keys to these species, including the new ones were constructed; habitat features, geographical distributions and IUCN categories of the species were evaluated. Pollens of the genera Bilacunaria and Cachrys were examined with light and scanning electron microscopes (SEM). Pollens were found to be the type perprolate and subprolate, tricolpate and their ornamentations were striate-rugulate. Cytogenetic studies revealed that, the chromosome number of the four taxa of the genus Hippomarathrum in Flora of Turkey (H. microcarpum, H. crassilobum, H. cristatum, H. scabrum) were found as 2n=22. Related to molecular studies, DNAs of the taxa were isolated according to 2XCTAB procedure and Qiagen DNA Isolation Kit, and PCRs were conducted in the presence of selected ISSR and RAPD primers. Phylogenetic analysis of the taxa was performed in the light of the data obtained. Numerical classification of the taxa, based on morphological, palynological and anatomical data, was also conducted. According to numerical taxonomy, genetic relationships of the taxa were also determined via NTSYS-pc programme.
