dc.description.abstractBu çalışma, ulus-devlet anlayışının farklı bir tezahürü olarak inşa edildiği varsayılan “Azerbaycanlı ulus kimliğinin” tarihsel arka planına bakma ihtiyacını gidermek için ortaya konmuştur. Çalışmanın ana gayesi özellikle milliyetçi çevrelerce Sovyetler Birliği’nin ‘Milletleştirme Politikası’nın mirası olarak sunulan “Azerbaycan ulus kimliğinin esasında tarihsel bir olgu olarak ele alınması gerekliliğini ortaya koymaktır. Kavramın, sadece Sovyet dönemimde ortaya atılmadığı, tarihi bir geçmişi ve mesnedinin olduğu savı bu çalışmanın çıkış noktasını oluşturmaktadır. Bu çerçevede çalışmanın ilk bölümünde ulus, ulus-devlet ve ulusçuluk kavramları detaylı bir şekilde tanımlanmış, ikinci bölümünde ise çalışmanın odak noktası Azerbaycan ile ilgili tarihsel çerçeve izah edilmiştir. Çalışmanın bir sonraki bölümünde Azerbaycan hükümetinin ulus devlet ve ulus kimlik anlayışlarının hangi unsurlar temelinde şekillendirildiği açıklanmıştır. Çalışmanın son bölümünde ise SSCB’nin dağılmasının ardından özellikle Aliyev dönemi Azerbaycanlı kimliğinin pekiştirilmesine yönelik politikalar ve diğer gelişmeler incelenmiştir.en_US
dc.description.abstractThis study has been put forward to meet the need to look at the historical background of the "Azerbaijani national identity", which is assumed to be built as a different manifestation of the nation-state understanding. The main purpose of the study is to reveal the necessity of considering the "Azerbaijan national identity, which is presented as the legacy of the "Nationalization Policy" of the Soviet Union, especially by nationalist circles, as a historical phenomenon. The argument that the concept was not introduced only in the Soviet period, but that it has a historical background and basis is the starting point of this study. In this context, in the first part of the study, the concepts of nation, nation-state and nationalism were defined in detail, and in the second part, the historical framework related to Azerbaijan, the focal point of the study, was explained. In the next part of the study, it is explained on which elements the understanding of nation-state and national identity of the Azerbaijani government is shaped. In the last part of the study, after the collapse of the USSR, policies and other developments aimed at reinforcing the Azerbaijani identity, especially in the Aliyev period, were examined.en_US
