Çocuklarda Genel Anestezi ve Sedasyon Altında Uygulanan Dental Tedavilerin Retrospektif Değerlendirilmesi

| dc.description.abstract | Amaç: Çocuklarda birçok tedavi lokal anestezi yardımıyla yapılabilse de özellikle kooperasyon kurulamayan ve ek sistemik rahatsızlığı ya da özel bir engel durumu olan çocuklarda tedavilerin genel anestezi/sedasyon altında yapılması gerekmektedir. Genel anestezi altında dental tedaviler maliyeti ve risk faktörlerinden dolayı aileler için son tercih olsa da günümüzde uzun sürede tamamlanabilecek tedavilerin genel anestezi altında aynı seansta güvenilir bir şekilde yapılabilmesi bu tedavi seçeneğinin kullanılmasını yaygınlaştırmaktadır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Bu çalışma, Başkent Üniversitesi Konya Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi Pedodonti Kliniği’ ne muayene ve tedavi amaçlı başvuran ve tedavileri genel anestezi/sedasyon altında tamamlanan 1-14 yaş aralığına sahip toplam 1536 çocuk hastanın klinik kayıtlarının retrospektif olarak incelenmesi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bulgular: Genel anestezi/sedasyon altında tedavileri yapılan hastalara 5144 adet restoratif dolgu, 4653 adet pulpa amputasyonu (pulpotomi), 732 adet kanal tedavisi, 967 adet paslanmaz çelik kron uygulaması, 48 adet pediatrik zirkonyum kron uygulaması, 2871 adet diş çekimi, 221 adet fissür örtücü, 23 adet kistik cerrahi, 47 adet labial frenektomi ve 8 adet lingual frenektomi uygulanmıştır. Bu hastaların 28’ inde (% 1.82) tekrar tedavi gereksinimi duyulmuş ve kısa süreli işlemler için entübe olmadan sadece sedasyon uygulaması ile tedavi altına alınmışlardır. Sonuç: Çocuk diş hekimliğinde genel anestezi/sedasyon altında dental tedaviler, tek seansta tüm dental işlemlerin bitirilmesine olanak sağlaması, tedavi başarısında kooperasyon etkenini ortadan kaldırması ve özellikle engelli çocuklarda yaşam kalitesini yükseltmesi ile sıklıkla tercih edilen bir uygulamadır. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Background: Although many treatments can be performed with the help of local anesthesia in children, the treatments should be performed under general anesthesia/sedation, especially in children who cannot cooperate and who have additional systemic disease or a special disabilities. Even though dental treatments under general anesthesia are the last choice for families due to their cost and risk factors, nowadays, the long-term treatment that can be completed safely in the same session under general anesthesia makes the use of this treatment option widespread. Methods: In this study was carried out by retrospectively examining the clinical records of a total of 1536 pediatric patients aged 1-14 years, who applied to Baskent University Konya Practice and Research Center Pedodontic Clinic for examination and treatment and whose treatments were completed under general anesthesia/sedation. Results: According to the data; 5144 restorative fillings, 4653 pulp amputations (pulpotomy), 732 root canal treatments, 967 stainless steel crowns, 48 pediatric zirconium crowns, 2871 tooth extractions, 221 fissure sealants for patients treated under general anesthesia/sedation, 23 cystic surgeries, 47 labial frenectomies and 8 lingual frenectomies were performed. Re-treatment was required in 28 (1.82%) of these patients and they were treated with only sedation without intubating for short-term procedures. Conclusion: Dental treatments under general anesthesia/sedation in pediatric dentistry is a frequently preferred practice as it allows the completion of all dental procedures in a single session, eliminates the factor of cooperation in treatment success, and increases the quality of life, especially in children with disabilities. | en_US |
