The aim of this study is to evaluate the force degradation of elastomeric chains produced by different brands in three different environments; air media, artificial saliva media, thermal cyclic media, and to measure the water absorption of chains. Elastic chains produced by different brands (5 brands), different spacings (continuous, short spaced, long spaced) and features (memory, conventional) are included in the study. The force degradation of elastomeric chains based on brand-based water absorption, time and different environments (air media, artificial saliva media, thermal cyclic media) are evaluated. Measurements were repeated using a manual force gauge at 0 hours, 1 hour, 24 hours, 3 days, 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks. The Anova test was used to determine the time-dependent differences between the different environments and brands, the Post-Hoc Tukey test for binary comparisons at different time points, and the repeated Anova test was used for statistical comparison of elastic chains for determining the difference between percentages of strengths of environments. There was no significant difference in water absorption between brands (p> 0.05). In the study performed in the dry environment, there was no significant difference between the percentages of decrease in force at the 1st hour, 24th hour and 3rd day of the brands (p> 0.05), at the 1st week, 2nd week, 3rd week and 4th week there was a significant difference between brands (p <0.05). There was no statistically significant difference between the percentages of decrease in force between marks at 1 hour in artificial salivary media (p> 0.05), between the brands at 24th hour, 3rd day, 1st week, 2nd week, 3rd week and 4th week a statistically significant difference was found (p <0.05). A statistically significant difference was determined between the measurements at 1 hour, 24 hour, 3rd day, 1st week, 2nd week, 3rd week and 4th week in thermal cycle environment (p <0.05). There is no difference in water absorption between brands. However, significant differences were found in terms of force degradation depending on time in different environments and in different brands.
