dc.description.abstractThe present study was aimed at finding out the relative effects of melatonin and sex steroids on leptin concentrations in ovariectomized rats. This study shows that pinealectomy in ovariectomized rats leads to a significant increase in leptin levels. Estradiol and progesterone supplementation in pinealectomized and ovariectomized rats partly reversed the increase in leptin. Melatonin supplementation completely reversed the increase in leptin.en_US
