Özet
Very first catalog on the Turkish Folktales was printed in 1953, and Wolfram Eberhard-Pertev Naili Boratav prepared Tpen türkischer Volkmarchen and it was printed in Wiesbaden. The catalog had 378 types and it was a pioneer on its field, but it did not fit to the international cataloging system. Three hundred seventy eighth folktale types were categorized in 23 different titles. However, there should be gaps between titles and some types of folktales should be divided into subtitles. They obeyed the said rules in one folktale type that the type of number seven has two subtitles. Today, the number of folktales has increased by the help of the important studies which have been carried on in forty years. Therefore, beginning from this ready point there should be prepared a new Turkish Folktales Catalog similar to the Aerne Thompson type catalog. A single person may not be strong enough to prepare such a catalog, so, a team should work together for this stuffy. A draft catalog should be supported by the Universities in Turkey such as, Selcuk, Firat, Ege, Suleyman Demirel Gaziantep, Balikesir etc, which can fill the gap we have today. Absence of such a catalog regarding the types of Turkish Folktales is a big loss for the scientific field we work on it today.
