Özet
Teknolojinin gelişmesi ile internet üzerinden bilgi iletimi ve paylaşımının sağlanması, Kartografya bilimine de bir çok yenilikler getirmektedir. Bu yeniliklerden bazıları multimedya, sanal gerçeklik, animasyon ve simülasyon gibi sunum teknikleridir. Sayısal ortamda bulunan veriler, sunum tekniklerine göre hazırlanarak internetten kullanıcılara aktarılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, Multimedya Kartografya (MK)'dan yola çıkarak, Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemleri (CBS)'nde Multimedya konusu ele alınmıştır. MK'nın; harita, grafik, metin, ses ve görüntüler (resim, video) gibi bölümleri ayrı ayrı incelenip, hangi programlarda düzenleneceği araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada, CBS ve MK ilişkisi değerlendirilerek, multimedyanın CBS'ye sağladığı faydalar ve sorunlar irdelenmiştir. Multimedya özelliğine destek veren CBS yazılımları araştırılmıştır. CBS'de Multimedya için iyi bir sunum ortamı olan internet, incelemeye alınmıştır. nternet üzerinden yayınlanan Türkiye ve dünyadaki CBS'de multimedya örnekleri analiz edilmiştir. Bu araştırma ve incelemeler sonucunda Netcad 4.0 GIS ve MapInfo Professional 7.0 programlarında örnek uygulamalar sunulmuştur.
The development of the technology, supplied the information transfer and sharing it on the internette, brings too many innovations into the Cartography science. Some of these innovations are the presentation of the technics, such as multimedia, virtual reality, animation and simulation. The information in the numerical ambience are prepared in accordance with the presentation technics and transfered to the users by internette. During these studies, starting with the Multimedia Cartography (MC), the subject multymedia in Geographical Information Systems (GIS) had been taken into consideration during these studies. The departments of MC, such as cartography, graphics, texts, sounds, and images (photo, video etc.) were separately inspected and searched on which programs they should be arraged. CBS and MK relations were evaluated during the studies; and the utilities and the problems which multimedia supplied to CBS were scrutinized. The GIS softwears which support the multimedia specifications had been researched. The internette which is a good presenting ambient for multimedia on GIS,had been taken into observation. The multimedia examples of Turkey and the world GIS, broadcasted by internette were analyzed. Sample applications had been activated on Netcad 4.0 GIS and MapInfo Professionel 7.0 at the end of these investigations.
