Özet
Paratiroid, timus, tükrük bezleri ve pankreasın aksine tiroid bezinde yağ dokusu bulunması oldukça nadir görülen bir durumdur. Ayrıca tiroid bezinin diffüz lipomatosisi de son derece nadirdir. Literatürde birkaç vaka bildirilmiştir. Bir yıldır boyunda şişlik ve nefes darlığı şikayeti olan 43 yaşındaki erkek bir hastaya yapılan tetkikler sonucunda total tiroidektomi yapıldı. Histopatolojik inceleme sonucunda tiroid bezinin diffüz lipomatosisi tespit edildi. Rastlantısal olarak karşılaştığımız bu olgu nadir görüldüğü için sunmak istedik.
Unlike parathyroid, thymus, pancreas, or salivary glands, presence of adipose tissue in the thyroid gland is an infrequent phenomenon. Diffuse lipomatosis of the thyroid gland is an extremely rare entity and only a few cases have been reported. Here we report a 43-year-old man who presented with a one year history of neck swelling associated with respiratory distress of recent onset. A total thyroidectomy was performed. A final diagnosis of diffuse lipomatosis of the thyroid gland was reached.
