| dc.description.abstract | Osmanlı Devleti’nin eğitim sisteminde modernleşme dönemi ile birlikte Batı etkisi hissedilmeye başlanmış, çağın gereklerine ayak uydurabilmek adına pek çok yeni eğitim kurumu açılmıştır. Sultan Abdülhamid’in destekleriyle açılan Hamidiye Ticaret Mekteb-i Âlisi de bu okullardan biridir. Okul ticari hayattan uzak olan Osmanlı vatandaşlarını bu hayata dâhil edebilmek ve özellikle Sanayi Devrimi sonrası tüm dünyada yaşanan değişikliklere adaptasyonu sağlamak için açılmıştır. Çoğu araştırmada yükseköğretim düzeyinde açılan ilk ticaret mektebi olarak tanımlanan okulun ders programında coğrafya, tarih, hesap, iktisat, kimya, hukuk ve fizik derslerinin yanında ticari hayatın uluslararası boyutu da düşünüldüğünden olsa gerek Rumca, Fransızca, Arapça, İtalyanca ve İngilizce gibi lisan dersleri de yer almıştır. Bu çalışmada mektebin üçüncü ve dördüncü sınıfında verilen Ticari Coğrafya dersi için yazılmış olan “Memâlik-i Osmaniye’nin Coğrafya-yı Ticâriyesi” adlı eser konu edilmiştir. Eser, Ticaret Mektebinde bu adla bir ders olmasına rağmen ders kitabı olarak okutulacak bir eserin bulunmaması üzerine Ticaret Mektebi son sınıf öğrencilerinden Hüsrev Manolyan tarafından kaleme alınmıştır. Çalışmada söz konusu eser çok hacimli olmaması nedeniyle günümüz Türkçesine uyarlanarak aktarılmış, ayrıca Osmanlı Devleti’nde coğrafya biliminin gelişimi, Ticaret Mektebinin kısa bir tarihçesi ve eserin müellifi hakkında bilgilere yer verilmiştir. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | In the education system of the Ottoman Empire, the western influence began to be felt with the modernization period, and many new educational institutions were opened in order to keep up with the requirements of the age. Hamidiye Commercial School, which was opened by the support of Sultan Abdulhamid, is one of these schools. The school was opened in order to include the Ottoman citizens, who were far from commercial life, and to adapt to the changes experienced all over the world, especially after the industrial revolution. The curriculum of the school, which is defined as the first commercial school opened at the higher education level in most studies, includes language courses such as Greek, French, Arabic, Italian, and English, as the international dimension of commercial life is considered in addition to geography, history, calculus, economics, chemistry, law, and physics courses. has received. In this study, the subject is the work named “The Commercial Geography of the Ottoman Lands” written for the Commercial Geography course given in the third and fourth grades of the school. The work was written by Hüsrev Manolyan, one of the senior students of the Commercial School, after there was no work to be taught as a textbook, though there was a course with this name in the Commercial School.
