Toklularda Testisin Sezon Içi ve Sezon Dışı Morfometrik Ölçümleriyle Spermatolojik Özellikler Arasındaki Ilişkilerinin Belirlenerek Damızlık Seçiminde Kullanılabilirliğinin Araştırılması

dc.description.abstractBu çalışmada Merinos ırkı toklularda teslise ilişkin morf ometrik ölçüm sonuçlarının damızlık seçiminde kullanılabilirliği araştırıldı. Çalışmada, 15 aylık toplam 20 baş toklu kullanıldı. Aşım sezonu içinde (Ağustos-Aralık) ve dışında (Şubat-Nisan) testislere ilişkin ölçümler, skrotal sirkumferens, testis uzunluğu, testis kalınlığı ve testis hacmi olmak özere 15'er gün aralıklarla 4 kez yapıldı. Yinesezoniçi vedışındahertokludan üçer gün aralıklarla 4 adet sperma örneği alınarak gerekli spermatolojik muayeneler gerçekleştirildi. Asım sezonu içerisinde skrotal sirkumferens, testis uzunluğu, testis kalınlığı ve testis hacmi değerleri ile sperma miktarı, kitle hareketi, motilite ve spermatozoon yoğunluğu arasında önemli pozitif bir korelasyon bulunduğu belirlendi (P0.05). Aşım sezonu dışında ise skrotal sirkumferens, testis kalınlığı ve testis hacmi ile sperma miktarı, kitle hareketi, motilite ve spermatozoon yoğunluğu arasında; testis uzunluğu ile kitle hareketi, motilite ye spermatozoon yoğunluğu arasında önemli pozitif bir korelasyon tespit edildi (P0.05). Öte yandan skrotal sirkumferens, testis uzunluğu, testis kalınlığı ve testis hacmi değerleri ile ölü ve anormal spermatozoon oranları arasında önemli negatif korelasyon belirlendi (P0.05). Sonuç olarak; sezon içi ve sezon dışı testis ölçüm sonuçlan ile yukarıda belirtilen kimi spermatolojik özellikler arasında elde edilen önemli korelasyon bulguları göz önüne alınarak testisin morfometrik ölçüm sonuçlarının damızlık hayvan seçiminde bir kriter olarak kullanılabileceği kanısına varıldı.en_US
dc.description.abstractThe relationships between morphometric measurements of testes and sperm characteristics were evaluated. A total of twenty rams aged 15 months old were used. Scrotal circumference, testes length and width and testes volume were measured four times with a 15-days interval in addition to the evaluation of semen samples collected with a three-day intervals during breeding and non-breeding season. In breeding season; scrotal circumference, testes length, testes width and testes volume values were positively correlated with semen volume, gross and individual motility and semen concentration (P<0.05). In non-breeding season; scrotal circumference, testes width and testes volume measurements were positively correlated with semen volume, gross and individual motility and semen concentration (P<0.05). Except for semen volume, positive and significant correlation were detected among testes length and gross and individual motility and semen concentration (P<0.05). On the other hand, scrotal circumference, testes length, testes width and testes volume were negatively correlated with dead and abnormal spermatozoa rate (P<0.05). Based on the correlations detected between certain morphometric measurements of testes and semen quality, it was concluded that morphometric measurements of testes can be used as a selection criteria for breeding males.en_US
