Özet
Amaç – Dünyada ve Türkiye’de yaşlılık çeşitli veriler ışığında ortaya konularak, yaşlılara yönelik sosyal politikalar içerisinde yer alan aktif yaşlanma ve gümüş ekonomi stratejilerinin yakın gelecekte Türkiye’de yaşlılıkla ilgili meydana gelebilecek sorunların önlenmesindeki katkısı
araştırılacaktır.
Yöntem – Çalışmada uluslararası ve ulusal kuruluşların raporlarından elde edilen ikincil veriler kullanılarak başta dünya ve Türkiye’nin yaşlılık projeksiyonu, nüfus artış hızı, yaşlı bağımlılık oranları, istihdam oranları ele alınmış, ardından aktif yaşlanma ve gümüş ekonomi stratejilerinin
dünyadaki örneklerine yer verilmiştir.
Bulgular – Veriler göstermektedir ki, Türkiye’de de dünyadakine benzer şekilde ortalama yaşam süresi ve nüfus içerisindeki yaşlı nüfus oranı artmaktadır. Sosyal politika açısından bu gelişmeler, yaşlılara yönelik sosyal harcamaların payının artması ve sosyal güvenlik sistemlerine daha fazla yüklenilmesi anlamına gelmektedir.
Sonuç – Yaşlıların hem ekonomik hem sosyolojik açıdan daha aktif ve müreffeh bir konuma gelebilmesinde sosyal politika uygulamaları olarak aktif yaşlanma ve gümüş ekonomi stratejilerinin Türkiye’ye uyarlanması, yaşlılarla ilgili Türkiye’de yakın gelecekte oluşabilecek birçok sorunun önlenebilmesine katkı sağlayabilecektir.
Purpose – The aim of this study is examining the elderly population in the world and in Türkiye through various data and evaluating the contribution of active aging and silver economy strategies as examples of social policies for the elderly to prevent possible problems related to aging in Türkiye in the near future. Methodology – In this study, using secondary data obtained from the reports of national and international organizations, firstly the old age projection of the world and Türkiye, population growth rate, elderly dependency ratios, employment rates are discussed, and then examples of active aging and silver economy strategies in the world are mentioned. Findings – The data obtained from this study show that average life expectancy and the proportion of elderly people in the population are increasing in Türkiye, similar to other countries in the world. In terms of social policy, these changes mean an increase in the share of social expenditures for the elderly and a greater burden on social security systems. Conclusion- Adapting active aging and silver economy strategies to Türkiye as social policy practices to enable the elderly to become more active and prosperous both economically and sociologically will contribute to the prevention of many problems related to the elderly that may occur in Türkiye in the near future
