Abstract
Bu çalışma Mart 1996 - Haziran 1996 döneminde Konya Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğüne bağlı ilkokullardaki özel sınıflarda eğitim gören çocuklarda gerçekleştirildi. Çalışmaya 8-16 yaşlar arasında 88'i (% 73.9 ) erkek, 31'i ( % 26.1 ) kız olmak üzere toplam 119 çocuk ahndu Zeka testi uygulanabilen 76 çocuğun % 73.7 'sinde hq/lf ve % 26.3 'tinde orta derecede zeka geriliği saptandı. Stereotipik davramşlar ve hiperaktivite orta derecede zihinsel özürlü çocuklarda, hafif derecede zihinsel özürlülere göre anlamlı derecede yüksek bulundu. Enurezis, enkoprezis, otistik belirtiler, tik, saldırganlık, dikkat eksikliği, konuşma bozukluğu ve zeka düzeyi arasında istatistiksel yönden anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmamakla birlikte zeka düzeyi arasında istatistiksel yönden anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmakla birlikte zeka düzeyi düştukçe bu ruhsal belirtilerin oran olarak arttığı görüldü. Cinsiyet yönünden incelendiğinde erkeklerde hiperaktivite, dikkat eksikliği ve konuşma bozukluğu kızlara göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek bulundu.
This study was performed on the mentally retarded children who were being educated at special classes of elementary school connected to the Ministry of Education in Konya. 88 males (% 73.9), 31 females (% 26.1) totally 119 children between 8-16 years of age were included in the study. 76 children that could take IQ test were classified as % 73.7 mild and % 26.3 moderate retarded stereotypic behaviors and hyperactivity were found significantly higher among moderate retarded children than mildly retarded ones. Although there was no significant relation between IQ level and enuresis, encopresis, stereotypic behaviors, autistic symp¬toms, tic. aggressiveness, hyperactivity, attention deficit and speech disorders, it was observed that as the IQ level decreased, percentage of this psychiatric symptoms in¬creased. Hyperactivity, attention deficit and speech disorders were found significantly high among the males.
