Özet
Mozaik, çok eski çağlardan beri sevilerek kullanılan bir sanat dalı olmuştur. M.Ö. 3. binde ilk örneklerine rastlanılan mozaik sanatı yüzyıllar içerisinde farklı toplumlar ve kültürler tarafından kullanılarak çeşitli değişimler geçirmiş ve günümüzde de önemini koruyan bir sanat dalı olma özelliğini devam ettirmiştir.Bu çalışmada; öncelikli olarak Kilikya Bölgesinin sınırları, tarihi coğrafyası ve bu bölgenin antik kentlerinden biri olan Kelenderis'in topografyası ile tarihi gelişimi üzerinde durulmuştur. Yine bu bölümü oluşturan birinci bölüm adı altında mozaik sanatının ortaya çıkış dönemlerinden itibaren geçirdiği tarihsel gelişim ve bu gelişimin ulaştığı nokta verilmeye çalışılmış son olarak da mozaik yapım tekniklerinden bahsedilmiştir.İkinci bölümde, Kelenderis Agora Bazilikası'nın mimari tanımı yapılarak Bazilikanın zeminini oluşturan mozaiklerin durumu ve kısa tanımı yapılmıştır.Üçüncü bölümde, Kelenderis Agora Bazilikası zemin mozaiği üzerindeki hayvan betimlemelerinin ikonografik değerlendirilmesi üzerinde durularak benzer örnekleri olan mozaik betimlemelerine de kısaca yer verilmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde, bu çalışmalar sonucunda elde edilen bulgular ?Değerlendirme ve Sonuç? başlığında değerlendirilmiştir. Çalışmamızın son aşaması olan beşinci bölümde, ?Katalog? başlığı altında konumuzu oluşturan hayvan türlerinin tipolojisi üzerinde durulmuştur.
Mosaic has been an art form mostly used since the ancient times. The mosaic art rooted back to 3000 B.C. has undergone various changes with the reason of used by different societies and cultures during centuries, and it has maintained to be an important art form today.Firstly, the boundaries, historical geography and topography of Celenderis, one of the ancient cities of the region, with its historical development were emphasized in this study. In the first part the historical development of mosaic art since the emergence of it, current stage of this development and also mosaic methods were mentioned. In the second part, the achitectural definition of Celenderis Agora Basilica. The situation and short definition of mosaics composing of the ground of Basilica were explained.In the third part, it was stressed on the iconographic evaluation of animal descriptions on Celenderis Agora Basilica ground mozaic, and mosaic descriptions having similiar examples were mentioned shortly.In the fourth part, the data gained from the study were evaluated under the title of `Assessments and Result?.In the fifth part of our study that is the last one, the typology of animal kinds comprising of our subject was emphaized with the title of `Catalog?.
