Eğitim gören otistik bireylerin 30 kadın 220 erkek, % 50,8 3-6 yaş gurubu, %58,8'i orta düzeyde otizm seviyesine sahip, %82,8'i eğitim programı dışında eğitim alan, %%85,2'si otizm dışında sağlık sorunun bulunmayan ve %63,2'si orta düzeyde iletişime sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir.
This study aims to examine the anxiety and stress levels of parents of children with autism. While the population of the research consists of parents of autistic children, the sample group consists of a total of 250 parents, 167 women and 83 men, who are responsible for autistic individuals studying at Çare Rehabilitation Center in Konya. Of the autistic individuals receiving training, 30 women and 220 men, 50.8% are in the 3-6 age group, 58.8% have a moderate level of autism, 82.8% receive training outside the training program, 85.2% It was determined that they had no health problems other than autism and 63.2% had moderate communication skills. The personal information form created by the researcher was used to obtain the sociodemographic information of the participants, the Coping with Stress Scale developed by Moos (1993) and adapted to Turkish by Ballı and Kılıç (2016) was used to determine the levels of coping with stress, and the Turkish adaptation developed by Spilberger (1983) was used to determine the anxiety levels. State and Trait Anxiety Inventory made by Öner and Le Compte (1983) was used. While no statistical change was observed in the state anxiety values of the research group depending on the factors of gender, proximity, educational status, income level and receiving psychological support, depending on the age factor, state anxiety values of parents aged 45 and over were higher than parents in the 35-44 age group. (p<0.05; table).Statistical changes were observed among the stress coping values depending on the factors: Gender, Age, Proximity, Receiving Professional Support, Education, and Income (p<0.05; table). In the light of these findings, it can be said that women who are parents of autistic children have higher levels of anxiety and stress, and this situation is caused by the role and status assigned to women in the sociocultural structure.
