Özet
Soğuk Savaş akabinde Balkanlar'da Yugoslavya'nın parçalanmasıyla etnik çatışmalar uluslararası siyasetin gündemine oturmuştur. Soğuk Savaş senelerinden bu zamana dış politikasını Rusya'yı önemli alanlarda etkisiz kılmak üzerine planlayan ABD ve Avrupa devletleri de Balkanlar'da Yugoslavya'dan sonraki süreç için yürütülecek stratejiler düşünmekteydi. ABD'nin bu yolda izlediği politikalardan biri sayılabilecek olan Bosna-Hersek müdahalesi de NATO çatısı altında yürütülmüş ve o tarihte gerçekleştirilmiş önemli bir adım olmuştur. Bosna-Hersek'te gerçekleşen savaş, şüphesiz ki NATO'nun katkısıyla ile gecikse de bir barış ile sonlanmış, savaş sonrası ise ülkede yeniden bir devlet inşa etme süreci başlamış ve inşa süreci, Dayton Barış Antlaşması ile gerçekleştirilmiştir.
After the Cold War, with the disintegration of Yugoslavia in the Balkans, ethnic conflicts came to the fore in international politics. The USA and European states, which had planned their foreign policy to neutralize Russia in important areas since the Cold War years, were also considering strategies to be carried out for the process after Yugoslavia in the Balkans. The intervention in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which can be considered as one of the policies followed by the USA in this direction, was carried out under the roof of NATO and was an important step taken at that time. The war that took place in Bosnia-Herzegovina, undoubtedly, ended with a peace even though it was delayed with the contribution of NATO, and after the war, the process of rebuilding a state in the country began and the construction process was carried out with the Dayton Peace Treaty.
