Özet
Taraflardan birinin çağrısıyla iki kişi arasında silah kullanımı ile teke tek çarpışma olarak nitelenen düello, etkisini V. yüzyıldan itibaren göstermiş, ulusların kültür tarihinde önemli bir yer edinmiş ve günümüze kadar gelmiştir. Uygulandığı dönemlerde düello, onur mücadelesi ve hukuksal bir çözüm olarak nitelendirilmiştir. İlk olarak V. yüzyılda İngiltere'de görülen düello, zaman içerisinde Avrupa ülkelerinde ve Amerika'da da etkisini göstermiştir. Düello XVIII. yüzyılda Fransızlardan etkilenerek Rus kültür ve edebiyatına girmiştir. Yaşamları düelloyla sonuçlanan ünlü kişiler olmuştur. XVIII-XIX. yüzyıl Rus yazarlarına baktığımız zaman eserlerinde düello konusu sıkça işlenmiştir. Bunun da başlıca nedeni düellonun Rus toplumunun günlük yaşamına ve kültürüne iyice girmiş olmasıdır. XIX. yüzyıl Rus eserlerinde düello, meşhur bir konu olmuştur. Ruslar, ülkelerinde düellonun yapılışı ve kurallarıyla diğer Avrupalı ve Amerikalı devletlerden ayrılmışlardır. Rus toplumunda sıkça başvurulan düello, XIX. yy.ın sonlarına kadar popülerliğini korumuştur. Fakat bu süre içinde pek çok insan ölmesi, hayatta kalanların ve tanıkların ağır cezalara mahkûm olması sonucu XX. yüzyıla doğru insanlar arasında düellonun gereksizliği konuşulmaya başlamıştır. XX. yüzyıl Rus kültür ve edebiyatına gelindiğinde, düello artık modası geçmiş bir gelenek olarak kalmıştır.
Duel, which is the fight between two opponents using swords or guns, often caused by a challenge had an important role in many nations cultural history and kept its effect from V. Century to the present day. At the time it was widespread, duel was seen as a fight for honor and a legal way to solve some kind of problems. Duel was first seen in England in V. Century and spread in a very short time over the Europan countries and America. İnfluenced by the Frenchmen duel appeared in the Russian cultur and literature in XVIII. Century. There were famous people whose lives were ended by duels. When we have a close look at the Works of the Russian Authors of the XVIII.-XIX. Century we will notice the subject ?duel? was often issued. The main reason was, at that time duel was a part of the daily life and culture of the Russians. There was not a more popular subject than ?duel? in the novels of the XIX. Century Russia. Russians differentiated from the Americans and Europans in the way they carried out the duels and about the rules of their duels. Many people died in duels in Russia and many who witnessed the duels and who survived from duels were given severe penalties so by the time duel was seen unnecassary among people. With the start of XX. century duel was an old tradition.
