This study was performed to determine the patient safety attitudes of nurses working in surgical units units (clinical, intensive care unit and operating room). This descriptive study was carried out with a total of 380 nurses working in the surgical of two public hospitals and two medical faculty hospitals in Konya province between 01-31 January 2017. We used to collect data ‗Introductory information form‘ and ‗Patient Safety Attitude Scale‘(SAQ) were used to collect data. Data were summarized by number, percentage, average mean and standard deviation. T-test, F test, Kruskall Wallis, Mann Whitney U test and regression analysis were used in the comparison analysis. The mean score of SAQ total of the nurses included in the study was 137,06 ± 26,23, while the mean score of the subdimension of work satisfaction mean score was 31,23 ± 10,10 in the sub-dimension of team working 41,09 ± 8.97, in the sub-dimension.of security climate 17,247±4,29, in the sub-dimension of the management understanding 23,93±6,05, in the sub-dimension of stress identification 16,05±5,84 and in the sub-dimensionof working conditions 7,49±3,15 points. It was determined that patient safety attitudes changed according to variables such as educational status of nurses working in surgical units, working status at the institution, professional working year, surgical unit studied, weekly working hours, intra-team communication in the clinic and evaluation of the unit on patient safety. In the regression analysis to determine the factors affecting patient safety, it was determined that all subdimensions and the determinant variable for the total scale were the evaluation of intra-team communication in the clinic. As a result, it was determined that the nurses' patient safety attitudes were moderate. It was seen that patient safety attitude was affected by individual, occupational-study characteristics and factors related to intra-team communication.
