Özet

In spite of many studies migraine pathogenesis is not throughly elucidated yet. There are studies concerning electrophysiological of changes in neurotransmitter levels. Considering the possibility that serotonin activity might have electrophysiological reflection as dopamine, sumatriptan succinate, a serotonin agonist, was injected subcutaneously during migraine attacks. In this study; VEP(Visual Evoked Potentials) was recorded 120, 180 and 240 minutes after sumatriptan injection. VEP amplitudes on these times were found to be higher than those recorded before the injections (p<0,01).
