Özet
Bilecik ve çevresi tarih boyunca çok sayıda medeniyete beşiklik etmiş, önemli yerleşmelerden birisidir. Kent, İstanbul- Bağdat Kervan yolu üzerinde önemli bir konaklama ve dinlenme yeri olarak dikkati çeker. Bilecik aynı zamanda Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun ilk kurulduğu ve Osman Gazi'nin Yenişehir'e gitmeden önce, bir süre Bilecik'te ikamet ettiği bir yerleşmedir. Bu nedenle Bilecik Osmanlı İmparatorluğu'nun ilk başkenti olması bakımından ayrı bir öneme sahiptir. Bilinen bu önemden dolayı 2006 yılında ?Bilecik'teki Osmanlı Dönemi Eserleri? başlıklı bir araştırma yapılmaya karar verilmiş ve yapılan bu araştırma sonucunda da Bilecik'te Osmanlı Dönemine ait çok sayıda mimari eser tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan araştırmada çok sayıda cami, mescit, türbe, imaret, hamam, çeşme ve kamu yapıları belirlenerek çizim ve resimlerle desteklenerek ayrıntılı şekilde tanıtılmıştır.
The important place; Bilecik and its vicinity has been host for many civilizations during the history. The city attract attention because of its localization on the Istanbul-Baghad caravan road and as an important quartering and resting place. At the same time Birecik was the city where the Ottoman Empire was founded for the first time and Osman Gazi stayed here before he went to Yenişehir. Also Birecik is an important city because it was the first Ottoman capital city. Because of this significance, one decided to do a research about ?the Ottoman Period Work of Art in Birecik? in 2006. As a result of this work, one discovered a lot of architectural works dated to the Ottoman period. In the study, a lot of mosques, mecids, türbe (tombs), imarets (soupkitchen) and hamam (Turkish bath), fountains, and public buildings have been designated and demonstrated/introduced with drawings and photograps.
