| dc.description.abstract | Araştırma, gazeteci karakterin beyaz perdede ilk göründüğü 1933’ten toplumsal gerçekçi akımı da kapsayan 1965’e, Türk sinemasında gazeteci imajı/imgesini ele almıştır. Toplumlarda gazeteciye güvengüvensizlikte filmlerde sunulan imajlar da etkilidir. Özellikle ardıllarına model oluşturduğundan ilk dönemlerde kurulup basmakalıplaştırılan imajların tespiti kamunun süregelen bakışını ve gazeteci temsilinin sinemada kökenini anlamada önem taşır. Bu bağlamda çalışmada, gazetecinin ana veya etkin yan karakter olduğu 28 film, Campbell ve Vogler’in Kahraman Yolculuğu ile Amerikan filmlerinde gazetecilerin yolculuk şeması temelinde ve sinemada gazeteci karakterine dair ortaya konan sınıflandırmalar, arketipler ve stereotipler üzerinden belirlenen parametrelerle analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucuna göre, Türk filmlerinde gazetecinin yolculuğunda anlatı kendi özgün yapısını kurmaktadır. Klasik Yeşilçam’da hem Hakikat Araştırmacısı hem Manşet Gazetecisi kahraman arketipine yerleştirilirken, toplumsal gerçekçilik filmlerinde ilki özgür basın temsilcisi/kahraman, ikincisi kötü adam/güdümlü gazeteci olarak inşa edilmekte, gazeteci Kılık Değiştiren ve hafiye olarak da sunulmaktadır. Sinema genelindeki gazeteci stereotiplerinin bazıları Türk filmlerinde belirirken, özgün stereotip inşaları da bulunmaktadır. Tüm bu temsillerin özünde basının gücüne dair mitlerin inşası dikkati çekmektedir. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | The study examines the image of the journalist in Turkish films, which were produced between 1933 and 1965. Journalist’s image in cinema affects the public’s ambivalent feelings towards the press. Analyzing the images built in the early periods is vital to understand the root of journalist characters in cinema. In this respect, within the framework of The Hero’s Journey and by utilizing findings drawn from previous studies, the article examines recurring archetypes, stock characters, and stereotypes in 28 Turkish movies, in which the protagonist or main supporting character is a journalist. The study reveals that early Turkish films create a unique journey stage. In classic Yesilcam films, both Front Page and Truth Seeker journalists are heroes. In social realism movies, while the first one is a real hero who represents the free press, the second one is a pure villain who is tool of the biased media. Besides, journalists in films are depicted as the Shapeshifter and detectives. Moreover, along with some similarities to American films, Turkish cinema creates its own journalist stereotypes. Lastly, regardless of the portrayals of journalists, the films emphasize and reinforce the importance of the free press. | en_US |
