Özet
Günümüz dijital çağında her türlü enformasyona çok daha hızlı erişme imkânı bulan insanlık, özellikle kişisel bilgisayarlar, cep telefonları ya da tabletler aracılığıyla enformasyona etki edebilme fırsatı da yakalamış durumdadır. Dahası, ‘dijital yerliler’ olarak adlandırılan ve özellikle 1980’lerin başından itibaren ‘ağ toplumu’ içinde büyüyen çocukların dijital dünyaya çok daha hızlı adapte olabildikleri söylenebilir. Dolayısıyla her geçen gün dijital veriler üzerine çok daha fazla etkide bulunan ‘bilgisayar dâhisi’ çocuklar görmek mümkündür. Çalışma bu noktadan hareketle, internetin ana vatanı ve çıkış noktası olan Amerika’nın sinema filmlerindeki bilgisayar dâhisi çocuklara yönelmiştir. Bu açıdan bilgisayar dâhilerine (hacker) yer veren Hollywood filmleri arasından Weird Science (1985), The Dirt Bike Kid (1985), Masterminds (1997) ve Let’s Be Evil (2016), örnekleme dâhil edilerek incelenmiş; çocuk hackerlar benzerlikleri ve farklılıkları açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Bu değerlendirmeyi yaparken gerek bilgisayar teknolojisinin, gerekse çocuk hackerların tarihsel süreçte nasıl bir dönüşüm yaşadığını ortaya koyabilmek adına, ‘tarihsel eleştiri’ kullanılmıştır
In this digital era, people not only reach any kind of information instantly but also find the opportunity to effect such information via personal computers, mobile phones or tablets. Furthermore, it can be argued that children, who are called `digital natives` and who have grown up in the `network society` since the early 1980s can be adapting much faster to the digital world. Thus, these children can have an impact on the digital data which lead us to see more and more ‘computer geniuses’ day by day. From this point of view, this study turns to computer genius children in the cinema movies of America, where the home and the exit point of the internet. Among the Hollywood movies including hackers, Weird Science (1985), The Dirt Bike Kid (1985), Masterminds (1997), and Let`s Be Evil (2016) are taken as sample. Also, this work evaluates child hacker characters of these movies in terms of similarities and differences. In this assessment, historical criticism has been used in order to be able to show how child hackers and computer technology has been transformed in historical process.
