Özet
"Çağdaş Sanatta Eser-Mekan İlişkisi" konulu Sanatta Yeterlik tez çalışması kapsamında amaç, eser ve mekanın çağdaş sanattaki kullanımına dair örneklerin araştırılarak incelenmesi ve elde edilen bulgu ve yorumlarla, ilgili literatüre katkı sağlamaktır. Çağdaş sanatın eser ve mekan bağı birbirlerinden ayrı düşünülemez ve sürekli birbirini besleyerek var olan ve birbirlerine değer katan önemli özelliklere sahiplerdir. Çağdaş bir sanat eserinin kavramı oluşturulurken sergilendiği mekan o eseri oluşturan en önemli unsurların başında gelmektedir. Çoğu zaman eserler var olacakları mekan için tasarlanırken bezen de var oldukları mekan ile özdeşleşmektedirler. Dış veya iç mekanın herhangi bir alanında konu, fikir eser ve mekan birlikte var olduklarında o eserin izleyici üzerindeki etkisi yüksek olmaktadır. Hızla bir dijitalleşme evresine girmiş olan dünyada mekanların da artık dijital ortam adı altında bir ivme ile günden güne ilerleğine şahit olunmaktadır. Bu dijital çağda eserini ortaya koyan sanatçıların bir bocalama olmadan bu yeni süreçte var oldukları görülmektedir. Zihinsel mekanda artık alışılagelmiş olan iç ve dış mekanlardan biri olmuştur. Çağdaş sanat eserinin ister dinamik olması ister durağan bir yapıya sahip olması fark etmeksizin sanatçı, eser, mekan ve izleyici arasında son derece dinamik bir halde iletişimi canlı tutmaktadır. Eğer bir eser bir mekanda bir şeyler anlatıyor ve izleyicide bu konuyu veya fikri anlayabiliyorsa o çalışma o alanın bir parçası olmaktadır. Aynı çalışmayı bulunduğu mekandan alıp başka bir mekana taşındığında eserin dilinin tamamen değiştiği fark edilmektedir. Tüm bu açılardan değerlendirildiğinde çağdaş sanatın eser ve mekan ile ilişkisi üzerine bazı çalışmalar yapılmış olsa da özellikle bir çağdaş sanat eserini meydana getirip günümüzde söz sahibi yapan evrelerini ve en son çağdaş sanatta neler gündeme geldiğine dair kapsamlı bir araştırmanın yapılmamış olması "Çağdaş Sanatta Eser- Mekan İlişkisi" başlığı altında bir araştırmanın yapılmasını önemli kılmıştır. Çağdaş sanatın oluşum ve gelişim süreci Türkiye'de ve Dünya çapındaki örnekleri ile çok yönlü olarak incelendiğinde 1900'lü yıllardan itibaren bir başlangıç olduğu tespit edilmiş ve 1980 sonrasında daha uç örneklerin ortaya çıktığı görülmüştür. Bu nedenle araştırma 1980-2022 yılları arasında eserler üreten sanatçılar arasından, çağdaş Dünya sanatçıları olarak Ai Weiwei, Anish Kapoor, Yayoi Kusama, Jeff Koons, Maurizio Cattelan ve çağdaş Türk sanatçıları olarak Refik Anadol, Ayşe Erkmen, Canan Tolon, Genco Gülan ve Alper Aydın olarak seçilmiştir. Çalışma çağdaş sanatta eser ve mekan üzerine eser örnekleri ile sınırlandırılmıştır. İncelenmek üzere seçilen isimlerin konu kapsamındaki istikrarlı çalışmaları, tercih edilmelerine referans olmuştur. Genel tarama modelinin kullanıldığı araştırmada, nitel araştırma yöntem ve tekniklerden faydalanılmıştır.
Within the scope of the Art Proficiency thesis titled " The Artwork-Space Relationship in Contemporary Art", the aim is to research and examine examples of the use of artrwork and space in contemporary art and to contribute to the relevant literature with the findings and comments. The artwork and space bond of contemporary art cannot be separated from each other and they have important features that constantly feed each other and add value to each other. While creating the concept of a contemporary artwork of art, the place where it is exhibited is one of the most important elements that make up that artwork. Most of the time, the artworks are designed for the place where they will exist, and sometimes they are identified with the place in which they exist. When the subject, idea, artwork and space coexist in any area of the exterior or interior, the effect of that work on the audience is high. In the world, which has rapidly entered a digitalization phase, it is witnessed that places are now progressing day by day with an acceleration under the name of digital environment. It is seen that the artists who put forth their works in this digital age exist in this new process without any hesitation. It has become one of the usual indoor and outdoor spaces in the mental space. Regardless of whether the contemporary art work is dynamic or has a static structure, it keeps the communication alive between the artist, the work, the place and the audience in an extremely dynamic way. If a work tells something in a space and the viewer can understand this subject or idea, that work becomes a part of that space. It is noticed that the language of the work completely changes when the same work is taken from the place where it is located and moved to another place. Considering all these aspects, although there have been some studies on the relationship of contemporary art with artwork and space, there has not been a comprehensive research on the phases of creating a contemporary art work and what has come to the fore in contemporary art. This shortcoming has made it important to conduct a research under the title of "The Artwork-Space Relationship in Contemporary Art". When the formation and development process of contemporary art is examined in many ways with examples from Turkey and around the world, it has been determined that there has been a beginning since the 1900s and more extreme examples have emerged after 1980. For this reason, Ai Weiwei, Anish Kapoor, Yayoi Kusama, Jeff Koons, Maurizio Cattelan were selected as contemporary world artists among the artists who produced works between 1980-2022. Refik Anadol, Ayşe Erkmen, Canan Tolon, Genco Gülan and Alper Aydın were chosen as contemporary Turkish artists. The study is limited to examples of works on artwork and space in contemporary art. The stable work of the names selected for examination within the scope of the subject has been a reference for their preference. Qualitative research methods and techniques were used in the study, in which the general scanning model was used.
