The relationship between the social intelligence and sportsmanship behaviours of the students studying in the faulty of sports sciences was investigated in the study. The participants were male and female students studying in physical education and sports teaching, coaching education, sports management and recreation departments in the faculty of sports sciences at Selçuk University. It has been determined whether the participants' social intelligence and sportsmanship behaviours differ according to their age, gender and departments. A demographic form containing personal information, the Multidimensional Scale of Sportsmanship, which was developed by Vallerand et al. (1997) and translated into Turkish by Balçıkanlı (2010), and the Tromso Social Intelligence Scale, which was developed by Silvera et al. (2001) and translated into Turkish by Doğan (2005) were employed to collect the research data. SSPS package program was used in the analysis and evaluation of the data. According to normality distribution, T-test, One-Way Anova test, Tukey test and correlation method were used. In evaluating the analyses, p value was accepted as p≤.05 as the level of significance. According to the results obtained in the study, while the values of women in all of the subdimensions of sportsmanship orientations of gender were found to be significantly higher than that of men, the values of women were significantly higher than men only in the social skill process subdimension of social intelligence. No significance was found in other sub-dimensions. Furthermore, no significant relationship was found between the social intelligence and sportsmanship orientation subdimensions of the age factor. According to the departments in which students are trained, there is a significant difference between the physical education teacher and coaching, coaching and recreation, sports management and recreation departments in the sub-dimension of sportsmanship behaviours of complying with social norms. There is also a significant difference in the sub-dimension of commitment to responsibility in sports, and this difference is between the physical education and sports teaching and sports management and sports management and recreation departments. In the evaluation of social intelligence according to the departments of the students, there are significant differences in the subdimension of the social skill process between coaching and recreation and sports management and recreation departments, but there is no significance among the other sub-dimensions. On the other hand, there is a positive and moderately significant relationship between the sub-dimensions of social intelligence. While there is a positive and moderately significant relationship between social intelligence and sportsmanship orientations sub-dimensions, there is a positive and weakly significant relationship between social skills process and compliance with social norms and social skills process and respect for rules and management. It was also determined that there is a positive and moderately significant relationship between the sub-dimensions of sportsmanship orientations. Generally speaking, the result is; it was determined that social intelligence and sportsmanship behaviours were significantly higher than women's values. There was no difference in the age variable. It is concluded that there is a significant difference between some sections in the section variable. It has been determined that there are positive and negative relationships at certain (moderate - weak) levels between social intelligence and sportsmanship behaviours.
