Studies on venous thrombosis depend on Virchow's triad related to venous thrombosis. This triad includes stasis, coagulation defect, and vein wall lesion. Venous thrombectomy was applied first by LeRiche in 1927. In subsequent years, Fogarty, De Weese, and Edwards defined the basic rules of venous thrombectomy and medical treatment more thoroughly.en_US
