dc.description.abstractGeniş spektrumlu antibiyotiklerin kullanımının yaygınlaşmasıyla birlikte lateral sinüs tromboflebiti (LST) görülme insidansı ve mortalitesi son yıllarda belirgin bir şekilde azalmıştır. Fakat antibiyotiklerin kullanımı ile semptom ve bulgular baskılandığı için LST’nin klinik tablosu değişmekte ve tanı koymak gecikebilmektedir. (LST) sıklıkla kronik otitis medialı erişkin hastalarda görülmektedir. Akut otitis mediaya bağlı LST gelişmesi ise daha çok çocukluk çağında görülmekle beraber erişkin yaş grubunda görülmesi ise oldukça nadir bir durumdur. Bu çalışmada akut otitis mediaya bağlı LST gelişen 24 yaşındaki erkek hasta sunuldu. Uygulanan tedavi şekli ve hastalığın klinik seyri literatürlerin ışığı altında tartışıldı.en_US
dc.description.abstractIn recent years, the insidance and mortality of lateral sinus thrombophlebitis (LST) decreased depending on advenced antibiotherapies, but the picture of LST may be unclear due to the masking effect of the previous use of antibiotics and the overlap of signs and symptom. LST is usually developed due to chronic otitis media in the adult patient. However, LST due to acute otitis media is more frequent in children patient than in adult patient. In the present study, 24 year old patient with LST due to acute otitis media presented. Treatment methods and clinical course were discussed under references.en_US
