Özet
Amaç: Bu vaka raporunun amacı; iki farklı laterognati vakasının, sabit ortodontik tedavi ve sadece alt çeneyi içeren cerrahi yaklaşım sonrası meydana gelen değişimlerini sunmaktır. Olgu 1: 20 yaş 2 aylık kadın hasta alt çenesindeki asimetri sebebiyle kliniğimize başvurmuştur. Yapılan ağız dışı fasiyal cephe değerlendirmesinde alt çene ucunun yaklaşık 4 mm kadar sola deviye olduğu laterognati görüntüsü mevcuttu. Hastada underjet ve sol bölgede posterior çapraz kapanış mevcuttu. Olgu 2: 20 yaş 3 aylık kadın hasta alt çenesindeki asimetri sebebiyle kliniğimize başvurmuştur. Yapılan ağız dışı fasiyal cephe değerlendirmesinde alt çene ucunun 6 mm sağa deviye olduğu laterognati görüntüsü mevcuttu. Sağ bölgede posterior çapraz kapanış mevcuttu. İlk olgu için 15 aylık, ikinci olguda ise 17 aylık sabit ortodontik tedaviden sonra bilateral sagittal split osteotomisi, uygulanmıştır. Sonuç: Tedavi edilen iki farklı laterognati olgusunda; sabit ortodontik tedaviyle birlikte sadece alt çeneye uygulanan cerrahi yaklaşım; ciddi asimetriye sahip hastaların fasiyal ve dental laterognati anomalisinin düzeltilmesini gerçekleştirerek, tatmin edici sonuçlar alınmasını sağlamıştır.
Objectıve: The aim of this case report is to present the changes of two different laterognathia cases treated with the fixed orthodontic treatment and the surgical approach including only lower jaw. Case 1: 20-year 2-month-old female patient, was referred to our clinic due to the asymmetry of the chin. In extraoral examination; laterognathia view was observed with the chin deviation to the left side about 4 mm. Also, underjet and posterior crossbite on the left side was determined. Case 2: 20-year 3-month-old female patient, was referred to our clinic due to an asymmetry of a chin. In extraoral examination; the laterognathia view was observed with the chin deviation to the right side about 6 mm. Also, posterior crossbite was determined on the right side. Bilateral sagittal split osteotomy was performed after 15 months of orthodontic treatment in the first case and after 17 months of orthodontic treatment in the second case. Conclusıons: In two different types of laterognathia cases treated with fixed orthodontic treatment and surgical approach including the only lower jaw, satisfactory results were obtained with correcting the facial and dental anomalies in laterognathia cases with severe asymmetry
