Özet
Bir toplumsal kurum olarak eğitimin, toplumsal eşitsizliğin yeniden-üretilmesindeki rolü önemlidir. Bu çalışmada toplumsal eşitsizliğin yeniden-üretilmesinde önemli bir rol üstlenen eğitim kurumunun sınıfsal temelleri gösterilmeye çalışıldı. İnsanların eğitimle ilgili yaklaşımlarını belirleyen düşünce kalıplarının, anlam haritalarının oluşmasında, kişinin ait olduğu sınıfsal konumun etkisi kadar zeka, yetenek, beceri gibi kişisel özelliklerin toplumsal kökenlerini deşifre etmek de eğitim sosyolojisinin konularından biri olarak değerlendirilebilir. Eğitim eşitsizliğinin Türkiye'deki görüntüsü meslek liseleri, katsayı uygulaması, özel eğitim kurumları bağlamında gözlemlenebilir. Bir eleme mekanizması olarak çalışan eğitim sistemi, egemen kültürel sermayenin kapsamına giren öğrencileri yukarı doğru taşımaktayken, bu sermayeye sahip olmayan öğrencileri eğitim sisteminin dışına itmektedir. Ancak eğitimin metalaşmasına bağlı olarak özelleşmenin nimetlerinden istifade eden özel eğitim kurumları, farklı kültürel sermayesi nedeniyle dışarı itilen kitleyi yeniden eğitim sektörüne dahil ederek, ekonomik sermaye sayesinde, eğitim ile ilgili eşitsizliklerin üzerinden atlamalarını kolaylaştırmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı eğitim alanındaki eşitsizlikleri sınıfsal temeller bağlamında çözümlemektir.
As a social institution, education plays an important role in reproducing social inequality. In this study we aimed to reveal rudiments of social class of educational institutions that undertake an important role in reproduction of social inequality. In the formation of thought patterns and maps of meaning, which determine approaches of people to education, decoding social radicals of individual specifications, such as intelligence, ability, skills, as well as how effective the position of class an individual belongs to is, may also be considered as one of the subjects of educational sociology. The outlook of educational inequality in Turkey is observed in the context of both vocational high schools and private educational institutions. While the educational system functioning as a mechanism of elimination carries students who fall within dominant cultural capital upwards, it pushes those who do not have it out of educational system. However, private educational institutions, which take advantage of benefits of privatization, depending upon educational commodification, makes it easier to overcome educational inequalities thanks to economic capital by incorporating the externalized population due to different cultural capital into educational sector. The intent of this study is to analyse inequalities in educational sector in the sense of rudiments of social class.
