Özet
Grafik tasarım, bir iletişim dili oluşturma noktasında çeşitli alanlara hizmet
edebilmektedir. Bu anlamda grafik tasarımın gerek iletişim noktasında gerek estetik
bir kaygı sebebiyle bir takım teknikleri içinde barındırdığı söylenebilir. Bu
tekniklerden biri de hem sanatsal hem de iletişim açısından, birleştirme yönteminin
temelini oluşturan kolaj tekniğidir.
Bu araştırma, bir grafik tasarımcının dijital yöntemlerle beraber el becerisini aktif
bir şekilde kullandığı yeni alanlar keşfetmesini amaçlamaktadır. Bu doğrultuda
öncelikle kolajla ilgili kavramsal çerçeve ele alındıktan sonra, tarihi gelişim süreci,
grafik tasarımda uygulanması ve diğer uygulama alanları ele alınmıştır. Buna bağlı
olarak resimli kitaplarda kolaj tekniğini uygulayan sanatçılar ve kitapları
incelenmiştir. Araştırmada, çeşitli kitap, makale ve tezlerden elde edilen tüm görsel ve
yazılı veriler doğrultusunda kolaj tekniği ile bir kitap tasarımı yer almaktadır.
Araştırma sonucunda, kolaj uygulamalarının özellikle çocuk kitaplarında, anlaşılır
ve sade bir anlatım tarzı geliştirdiği için tercih edildiği görülmektedir. Bu anlamda
çocuk kitaplarında sıkça rastlanan bir üslup olmuştur. El becerisinin de etkili olduğu
bu teknik, tasarımcılara bir grafik ürün ortaya çıkartma noktasında özgün bir alan
sunduğu söylenebilir.
Graphic design can serve various fields at the point of creating a communication language. In this sense, it can be said that graphic design includes a set of techniques due to both communication and aesthetic concerns. One of these techniques is collage, which forms the basis of the combining method, both artistically and in terms of communication. This research aims for a graphic designer to discover new areas by actively using manual dexterity with digital methods. In this direction, first of all, after the conceptual framework of collage is discussed, its historical development process, its application in graphic design and other application areas are discussed. Accordingly, the artists who applied the collage technique in picture books and their books were examined. In the research, a book design with collage technique takes place in line with all visual and written data obtained from various books, articles and theses. As a result of the research, it is seen that collage applications are preferred especially in children's books because they develop an understandable and simple style of expression. This technique, in which dexterity is also effective, offers designers a new area to create a graphic product.
