| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmada gelenek ve modernite bağlamında din ve insan konusu, Charles le Gai Eaton'ın görüşleri ekseninde incelenmektedir. Birinci bölümde onun hayatı ve eserleri üzerinde durulmakta ve entelektüel kimliğinin oluşum sürecine dikkat çekilmektedir. Çalışmamızın ikinci bölümünde öncelikle anlam ve varlık boyutuyla din ve insan konusu işlenmektedir. Hemen akabinde Eaton'ın düşünce dünyasını şekillendiren Gelenekselci ekol hakkında bilgi verilmektedir. Bununla birlikte, bu ekolün mensupları ve temel yaklaşımları ana hatlarıyla incelenmektedir. Ardından Eaton düşüncesinde din ve insan başlıkları üzerinde durulmaktadır. Ayrıca Eaton düşüncesinde insanın kapsamlı bir şekilde ele alınmasını kolaylaştıran kadın meselesi de bir alt başlık olarak ele alınmaktadır. Üçüncü bölümde ise Eaton'ın din ve insan düşüncesi ekseninde ele almış olduğu modernite eleştirisi ele alınmaktadır. Bu bağlamda, düşünürün şehir ve mimari, sanat ve estetik, siyaset ve bilim alanlarına yönelttiği eleştiriler ve sunduğu alternatiflere değinilmektedir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | In this study, the issue of religion and human being in the context of tradition and modernity is analysed through the views of Charles le Gai Eaton. The first chapter focuses on Eaton's life and works. In this way, the process which forms his intellectual identity becomes clear. In the second part of our study, firstly, the subject of religion and human beings in terms of meaning and existence is discussed. Then, information is given about the Traditionalist School, which has greatly influenced Eton's world of thought. In addition, the representatives and basic ideas of the Traditionalist School are analysed here. After wards, the topics of religion and human in Eaton's thought are discussed. In this section, the issue of women, which facilitates the handling of human beings in all aspects, is discussed as a sub-heading. In the third part, Eaton's criticisms of modernity are evaluated. Eaton criticises modernity on the axis of religion and human thought. In this context, criticism of the city and architecture, art and aesthetics, politics and science are addressed. Eaton's criticisms are analysed within the framework of the alternatives he presents. | |
