Özet
Bu çalışma açık pyometralı köpeklerin tedavisinde prostaglandin F2x ve sulfadoksin/ trimetoprim kombinasyonu'nun etkisini değerlendirmek için yapıldı. Pyometranın teşhisi klinik belirtiler, laboratuar ve ultrasonografi bulgularına dayanılarak yapıldı. Bu çalışma da; pyometrali 10 köpek, 0.5mg/kg dozunda, derialtı yolla, günde bir kez, beş gün süreyle Dinoprost tromethamin ile tedavi edildi. Bunun yanında trimetoprim / sulfadoksin 15mg/kg dozunda, kas içi yolla, yedi gün süreyle verildi. Tedaviye cevap klinik belirtiler, laboratuar ve ultrasonografi bulgularına bakılarak değerlendirildi. On köpeğin altısı birinci tedaviye iyi cevap verdi. İki hafta sonra, pyometra ile ilgili bulguları devam eden dört köpek ikinci kez tedavi edildi. Bütün köpekler tamamen iyileşti. Köpekler iki yıl süreyle takip edildi. On köpeğin ikisi tedaviden sonra çiftleştirildi ve her ikisi de sekiz yavru doğurdu. Bir köpekte tedaviden sonra 20. ayda pyometra tekrarladı ve bu hayvana overiohysterectomi operasyonu yapıldı. Bu sonuçlar tedavi sonrası hastalığın tekrarlanabilmesi ile birlikte üreme yeteneği muhafaza edilmesi istenen açık pyometrali köpeklerin medikal tedavisinde prostaglandin F2a ve sulfadoksin/ trimetoprim kombinasyonunun yararlı ol duğunu gösterdi.
This study was done to evaluate usefulness of prostaglandin F2a and sulfadoksin/ trimetoprim combination in treatment of open-cervix pyometra in the bitch. Diagnosis of pyometra was based on clinical signs, laboratory and ultrasonographic findings. In this study, 10 bitches with pyometra were treated with Dinoprost tromethamine at a dose of 0.5mg/kg bodyweight by subcutaneous once a day for five consecutive days. In addition, trimetoprim/sulfadoksin administered at a dose of 15mg/kg bodyweight by intramuscularly once a day for seven days. The response to treatment was monitored by clinical signs, laboratory and ultrasonographic findings. Six of ten bitches responded well to only first treatment. After two weeks, four bitches with recurrence of pyometra were treated a second time treatment. All bitches compietely recovered. Bitches were monitored for two year. Two of ten bitches was bred after treatment and both delivered eight pups. Bitch had recurrence of pyometra within 20. month after treatment. Ovariohysterectomy was done. The results indicated that prostaglandin F20 and sulfadoksin / trimetoprim combination are sufficient for medical treatment of bitch to open-cervix pyometra of reproduction is desired with clinical recurrence after treatment.
