The aim of this study was comparison with the AAHPERD (American Alliance For Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance) battery of physical fitness of girls from 8 to 10 attending to state elementary schools and private elementary schools. The number of the subjects participated in the study were 603; 324 girl students from state elementary schools and 279 girl students from private elementary schools. The order of the measurements and tests was as follows: weight, height, sit-and-reach test, skinfold measurement, sit-up, pull-up, and one-mile run-and-walk. In statistical analyses, the mean, standard deviation, maximum and minimum values of AAHPERD tests applied to the students were obtained; and to determine the differences between the values obtained with AAHPERD test battery for each age group from both state and private schools, One-Way ANOVA/Tukey test was applied and the findings were evaluated accordingly. As a result, the data showed that 8, 9 and 10-year-old girls from state elementary schools yielded higher values regarding to flexibility, upper-body strength, and cardiovascular endurance while those who attend to private elementary schools yielded higher values of abdominal strength and body-fat.
