World economy has experienced liberalization in goods and finances in the globalization process, with lower limitations between countries' markets. Fast developments in the communication field led to a parallel growth in the financial sector. Financial liberalization policies have increased following the 80's, resulting in fragile national economies affecting each other. Turkish economy will certainly be affected by the global financial crisis that started in the housing sector in the USA, which spread to Europe. Still, it might be expected that the Turkish economy will go through this crisis with less damage. due to the reorganization in the banking system that has considerably decreased economic fragility, following the 2001 financial crisis.
