Özet
Formaldehyde is a chemical substance which is used to keep cadavers in gross anatomy laboratories of medicine and veterinary. Negative effects of commonly used formaldehyde on human health have recently started to come to light. The students and the staff in anatomy dissection rooms are always in touch with formaldehyde cutaneously and bronchially when dealing with cadavers. Because of cancerogenic, neurotoxic, embryotoxic, teratogenic, cytotoxic, genotoxic and allergic effects of formaldehyde and its negative effects on respiratory system, sense organs and enzymes, serious precautions should be taken. Solutions should be searched in the point of applying other substances instead of formaldehyde or which may eliminate its negative effects. © Sila Science.
