Özet
Iconium is the center of today's Konya province. The city entered into the domination of Rome with the formation of Asia State by Augustus as a result of the death of Amyntas from Galatia in 25 BC. During the Augustus period, the city was exposed to colonization activities. Iconium City became a complete Roman colony in the Hadrian period. Iconium was important for trade, since it was situated at the junction of the roads from the north south, east - west. That is why various coins were pressed in the city. Indeed, many Colony-Iconium coins of the Roman period have been identified which were found in coin exhibitions and located in the storage. They had been brought to different archeological museums in Turkey via scientific excavations or purchasing or confiscation. The aim of the study is to have knowledge a bout the socio-economic life, belief system and political development in the region through these coins which are dated to the Roman period.
