dc.description.abstractFolk painting is a kind of painting through which people from all walks of life reflect on various materials like wood, paper, glass with various methods techniques in line with their own aesthetic understanding. These paintings are the reflections of folk traditions, religious and national values and alto social, political events of the present period. Reverse-glass paintings, which are characterized with their different techniques and style, are among the most interesting examples of folk painting both with their construction and the topics they treat. Although there are many descriptions for reverse-glass paintings, it can be expressed as the application of patterns on the glass inversely. Mastery of the artists is not generally reflected in the works of reverse-glass paintings. They can also be encountered in many regions of Anatolia as ornaments. Topics covered in the pictures; goodness, beauty, truth, are based on ideals such as bravery. On the use of fertility, which is believed to bring health and peace of mind and a sense of spiritual uploaded images it has found widespread use among the Anatolian people with these characteristics and is very popular. In this article, the styles and trends in reverse-glass painting, which maintained its freedom with its characteristic features despite the social changes in the freedom of the Turkish folk painting, are discussed. The aim of this study is to introduce and promote rich profile and aesthetic values of reverse-glass paintings, which with its free character attracts attention among handicrafts, which are indicators of cultural richness.en_US
