Özet
Günümüzde tekstil tasarımı yeni bir olgu olarak karşımıza çıkarken çağdaş tasarımlarda geleneksel unsurların göz ardı edildiği görülmektedir. Oysa geleneksel tasarım ile ilgili kavramsal algıları değiştiren postmodernizm kültürler arası diyalog sayılabilecek etkilenmelerin başladığı yeni bir dönem olarak 1980lerden sonra ortaya çıkarak, hiçbir toplum ya da kültürün diğerinden daha önemli olmadığını vurgulamış, farklılıkları ve kültürel çeşitlilikleri savunmuştur. Bu sayede ulusal kimliğe bağlılık azalmış ve etnik, bölgesel, dinsel yeni kimlikleri arama eğilimleri artmıştır. Bu araştırmanın amacı geleneksel tekstillerde bulunan yerel ve kült ürel unsurların postmodernizm döneminde tekstil tasarımı alanında kullanılma durumunu belirlemek 1970li yıllardan sonra 2015li yıllara gelindiğinde günümüz moda trendlerinde tekrar bir yükselme gösteren etnik, geleneksel, yerel ve kültürel unsurların özüne uygun bir biçimde kullanılması gerekliliğine dikkati çekmektir. Sonuç olarak postmodernizm ile tekstil tasarımında yeniden yer bulan geleneksel ve yerel unsurların kültürel bağlamdan koparılmadan kullanıldığı özgün tekstil koleksiyonlarının yaratılması, kültürel yabancılaşmanın önlenmesi ve kültür mirasına sahip çıkılması yönünden önemli görülmektedir.
Contemporary textile design confronting us as a new concept seems to ignore traditional aspects. On the contrary, postmodernism as a process where all the conceptual perception about the traditional design is transformed, revives from 1980s forming intense intercultural dialogues globally and emphasizing that no other culture or society is valuable than the other. Thus, ethnic, regional and local tendencies to search for diversified identities are created. The aim of this study is to define the employment of traditional, local and cultural aspects in textile design within the concept of postmodernism, to draw the attention to keen usage of these fostering aspects within the cultural context. As a result the employment of traditional and local elements emphasized through postmodernizm is expressed as vital for re-exploration of cultural and local aspects in textile design.
