Bu ara?tırmada, ScienceStart!? destekli fen eğitim programının çocukların bilimsel süreç becerilerine ve bilimsel tutuma güvenme ve yönelime etkisi incelenmi?tir. Çalı?manın bağımlı deği?kenleri anaokuluna devam eden altı ya? okul öncesi dönem çocuklarının ?bilimsel süreç becerileri? ve ?bilimsel tutuma güvenme ve yönelim?, bağımsız deği?keni ise ?ScienceStart!? destekli fen eğitimi programı? ve ?cinsiyet? tir.Ara?tırmanın uygulama a?aması, 2011-2012 eğitim-öğretim yılı içerisinde Konya ?li Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü?ne bağlı bağımsız anaokullarından tesadüfi küme örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilmi? olup, Meram ?ehit Kubilay Anaokulunda gerçekle?tirilmi?tir. Çalı?mada Meram ?ehit Kubilay Anaokulunda eğitim-öğretim görmekte olan altı ya? grubundaki iki ?ube örnekleme alınmı?tır. Yapılan öntest değerlendirmeleri sonucunda iki grubun arasında anlamlı bir fark olmadığı saptanmı?tır. Bu i?lem sonrasında random olarak seçilen bir grup deney grubu, diğer grup ise kontrol grubu olarak çalı?maya dahil edilmi?tir. Bu i?lemler sonucunda toplam 48 çocuk çalı?maya dahil edilmi? olup, çalı?ma grubunu 24 çocuk deney grubu, 24 çocuk ise kontrol grubu olmak üzere olu?turmu?tur. Ara?tırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, demografik bilgileri içeren genel bilgi formu, Mantzicopoulos ve Patrick (2006) tarafından geli?tirilen ve Akman, Gelbal, Alabay, Veziroğlu ve Aksoy (2012) tarafından Türkçe?ye uyarlanıp altı ya? çocukları için geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalı?maları yapılan resimli ?Bilimsel Tutuma Güvenme ve Yönelme Ölçeği? (Puppet Interview Scales of Competence in and Enjoyment of Science ?PISCES) kullanılmı?tır. Ayrıca bu çalı?mada, Howe ve Jones (1998) tarafından olu?turulan ve Akman, Üstün ve Güler (2003) tarafından türkçeye uyarlanan ve çocukların bilimsel süreç becerilerinin düzeyini belirlemek amacıyla hazırlanmı? ?Fen Süreçleri Gözlem Formu? kullanılmı?tır. Bilimsel Tutuma Güvenme ve Yönelme Ölçeği, çocukla birebir uygulanan resimli bir ölçek olup; Fen Süreçleri Gözlem Formu ise çocuğun öğretmeni tarafından gözlemleri doğrultusunda doldurduğu bir gözlem formudur. Ara?tırmada elde edilen veriler SPSS 15.0 paket programı ile analiz edilmi? olup, verilerin analizinde; yüzde ve frekans, nicel ara?tırma yöntemlerinden nonparametrik testlerden Mann Whitney U testi ve Kruskal-Wallis H testi kullanılmı?tır.Ara?tırmanın veri analizi sonucunda a?ağıdaki bulgulara ula?ılmı?tır: ? ScienceStart!? Destekli Fen Eğitim Programının çocukların bilimsel tutuma güvenme ve yönelimi arttırdığı ve bilimsel süreç becerini pozitif yönde desteklediği, ? Deney ve kontrol grubu çocuklarının sontest puan ortalamalarının kar?ıla?tırılması sonucu, ScienceStart!? Destekli Fen Eğitim Programı, çocukların bilimsel bilgi, bilimsel ilgi ve toplam bilimsel tutuma güvenme ve yönelim puan ortalamalarını anlamlı derece yükseltirken, bilimsel yeterlik puan ortalamalarında anlamlı farklıla?ma yaratmadığı,? Deney ve kontrol grubu çocuklarının cinsiyet bağımsız deği?keni ile Fen Süreçleri Gözlem Formu (gözlemleme, sınıflama, ileti?im, ölçme, tahminde bulunma ve toplam fen süreçleri) ve Bilimsel Tutuma Güvenme ve Yönelme Ölçeği (bilimsel bilgi, bilimsel yeterlik, bilimsel ilgi ve toplam bilimsel tutuma güvenme ve yönelim) sontest puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı farklıla?ma olmadığı sonucuna ula?ılmı?tır.
In this study, the effect of ScienceStart!?-assisted science education on the scientific process skills of children and their confidence and orientation in the scientific attitude is examined. The dependent variables of the study are ?scientific process skills? and ?their confidence in the science? of preschool-period children aged six who continue attending their preschool and the independent variable of the study is ?ScienceStart!?-assisted science education program?.XV The choice is made with the random cluster sampling method among the independent kindergartens affiliated with Konya Provincial Directorate for National Education in 2011-2012 academic year and the practice/application stage of the study is carried out in Meram Sehit Kubilay Kindergarten. In the study, two sections/classes in the group aged six who receive education in Meram Sehit Kubilay Kindergarten are taken as sampling. As a result of the pre-test assessments carried out, it is determined that there is no significant difference between two groups. After this process, a group which is chosen randomly is included as experimental group into the study and the other group is also included as control group into the study. After these processes, total 48 children are included into the study; the experimental group which is composed of 24 children and control group which is composed of 24 children constitute the study group.The general information form which contains the demographic information and the illustrated ?Puppet Interview Scale of Competence in and Enjoyment of Science-PISCES? which is developed by Mantzicopoulos and Patrick (2006), adapted into Turkish by Akman, Gelbal, Alabay, Veziroglu and Aksoy (2012) and with which the validity and reliability studies are done for the children aged six are used as data collection tool in the study. Moreover, ?Science Processes Observation Form? which is developed by Akman, Üstün ve Güler (2003) and prepared to determine the level of scientific process skills of children is used in this study. Puppet Interview Scale of Competence in and Enjoyment of Science is an illustrated scale applied one-to-one with the child and Science Processes Observation Form is an observation form which the teacher of child fills in parallel with the observations of that teacher.The data acquired in the study is/are analyzed with SPSS 15.0 packaged software/program and percentage and frequency, Kruskal-Wallis H test and Mann Whitney U test which are one of the non-parametric tests, one of the quantitative research methods are used in the analysis of the data.As a consequence of the data analysis of study, the following findings areobtained:It is concluded that:? ScienceStart!?-assisted science education program increases the confidence of the children in the science and supports the scientific process skills positively;? As a result of the comparison of post-test point averages of experimental and control-group children, ScienceStart!?-assisted science education program does not make a significant difference between the scientific selfconfidence point averages while it significantly increases the children?s scientificknowledge, scientific interest and total point averages of Competence in andEnjoyment of Science;? There is no significant difference between the gender independent variable of experimental and control-group children and the Science Processes Observation Form (observation, classification, assessment/measuring, prediction and total science processes) and Puppet Interview Scale of Competence in and Enjoyment of Science (scientific knowledge, scientific self-confidence, scientific interest and total Competence in and Enjoyment of Science) post-test point averages.
