Özet
Temel inceleme nesnesi insan olan sosyolojinin, insanın üzerinde yaşadığı mekanı bir çalışma alanı olarak ihmal etmesi söz konusu olamaz. Çünkü mekan insanın üzerinde hayatını idame ettirdiği coğrafi alanının yanı sıra, insanın doğrudan ya da dolaylı olarak başka insanlarla etkileşim halinde olduğu bir alanı da ifade etmektedir. Bu etkileşim mekan ile insanın arasında kopmaz bir bağın oluşmasına neden olmuştur. Dolayısıyla insanın üzerinde yaşadığı mekanın dönüşümü insanın hayat tarzının, diğer insanlarla etkileşim biçiminin ve tüm sosyal hayatının dönüşümü anlamına gelmektedir. Bu sebeple bu çalışmanın konusunu insanın üzerinde yaşadığı temel mekanlardan biri olan mahallede yaşanan dönüşümle birlikte hayatında nelerin değiştiği ve modern kent mekanlarının mahalleye kıyasla toplumsal hayatta ne tür işlevler üstlendiği oluşturmaktadır. Bu bağlamda mahallenin tarihsel bağlamda yaşadığı dönüşüm ele alınacak ve günümüzde modern kent mekanları arasındaki konumuna değinilecektir
For sociology, the basic object of which is the human being, it is out of question to neglect the space which human beings use as a topic of study. Because, space refers not only to the geographic entity on which human beings maintain their life but also the corporeality within which human beings are in interaction with each other directly or indirectly. This interaction causes the formation of an unbreakable tie between the space and human beings. That is to say; the transformation of the space within which human beings live means the transformation of lifestyle, interaction with other people and the whole social life. Thus; what transformations occur in the lives of people with the transformation of the neighborhood which is one of the basic spaces where human beings live and how the functions of modern city spaces change are the questions that form the subject of this study. In this context, the transformation that the neighborhood experienced throughout history will be discussed and the position of the neighborhood within contemporary city spaces will be analyzed.
