| dc.description.abstract | İbrahim Etem Menderes, aslen Aydınlı olup 1899 yılında İzmir'de dünyaya gelmiştir. Eğitime önem veren bir ailede yetişmiş ve modern okullara gitmiştir. Lisede en yakın arkadaşı Adnan Menderes ile tanışmış ve bu sayede ömür boyu süren bir kader birliği başlamıştır. Etem Menderes, politikaya SCF ile başlamış ve 27 Mayıs'a kadar aktif siyasette yer almıştır. Aydın'da 15 yıl boyunca CHP İl Başkanı olarak görev yapmıştır. 1938-1945 yılları arasında da Aydın Belediye Başkanlığı yapan Menderes, 1946'da DP Aydın İl Teşkilatı'nı kurmuştur. 1950 seçimlerinde DP'den Aydın Milletvekili olarak TBMM'ne giren Menderes'in 10 yıl boyunca milletvekilliği devam etmiştir. Bu süreçte çeşitli bakanlıklarda bulunmuştur. Tarihe 27 Mayıs İhtilali olarak geçen askerî darbe ile dönemin bütün siyasetçileri gibi Etem Menderes'in de hayatı değişmiştir. Menderes, İstanbul- Ankara Olayları Davası ile Anayasayı İhlal Davası dışında görevi kötüye kullanma, zimmet ve servet davalarında yargılanmıştır. Anayasayı İhlal Davası'nda delil olarak kullanılan günlük notları, onun bazı çevrelerce ihanetle suçlanmasına neden olmuştur. Anayasayı İhlal Davası'nda 10 yıl hapis cezası alan Menderes, 1992 yılında 93 yaşında vefat etmiştir. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Ibrahim Etem Menderes, originally from Aydın, was born in Izmir in 1899. Grown up in a family that cares of education and went to modern schools. He met Adnan Menderes, who is his closest friend, at high school and thus a life long fate of the union started with him. Etem Menderes started in politics with the SCF and took active part in politics until the 27 May. He served as CHP Provincial Director in Aydın for 15 years. Menderes, who was also the mayor of Aydın between 1938-1945, established the DP Aydın Provincial Organization in 1946. Menderes, who entered the Grand National Assembly of Turkey as a representative of Aydın from the DP in 1950 elections, has been a member of the parliament for 10 years. Within this period, he served in various ministerial positions. Like all the politicians of the time, the life of Etem Menderes changed as a result of the military coup that is called the Coup of 27 May in the History. Menderes, was tried in the cases of misconduct, embezzlement and fortune except for the Istanbul-Ankara Events Case and the Violation of the Constitution Case. The daily notes were used as evidence in the Violation of the Constitution Case, caused him to be accused of be traying by some circles. Menderes, who received a 10-year prison sentence in the Violation of the Constitution Case, passed away in 1992 at the age of 93. | en_US |
