Turizm gelirleri ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişki: Türkiye örneği (2003-2017)

Özet
Turizm, gelişmekte olan ülke ekonomileri için sosyal, kültürel ve ekonomik bağlamda değerlendirildiğinde önemli hizmet sektörlerinden birisi olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Ayrıca turizm gelirleri ihracat gibi ülkeye döviz girişi sağlayarak ödemeler bilançosu açıklarını gidermekteki rolü açısından önemli unsurlardan birisidir. Çeşitli alanlarda ise istihdam alanları yaratmaktadır. Bu bağlamda turizm gelirleri ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişkinin ne yönde olduğu konusu önem kazanmıştır. Bu amaçtan yola çıkılarak çalışmada, 2003/1-2017/4 dönemleri arası turizm gelirleri ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişki ADF Birim Kök Testi ve Granger Nedensellik Testi ile ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Uygulama sonuçlarına göre; %10 anlamlılık düzeyinde ekonomik büyümeden turizm gelirlerine doğru tek taraflı bir nedenselliğin olduğu söz konusu olmuştur.
Tourism is one of the important service sectors in the social, cultural and economic context for developing countries. In addition, tourism revenues are one of the important factors in terms of their role in eliminating the balance of payments by providing foreign exchange inflow to the country such as exports. It creates employment areas in various fields. In this context, the relationship between tourism revenues and economic growth has gained importance. For this purpose in this study, the relationship between tourism income and economic growth between the periods 2003/1-2017/4 is tried to be demonstrated by ADF Unit Root Test and Granger Causality Test. According to results of the application; at the level of 10% significance, there is a one-way causality relation from economic growth to tourism revenues.
