| dc.description.abstract | Tüketim kültürünün hız kazanması ile tüm dünyada etkisini gösteren `Yaşam tarzı' kavramı giderek daha da önemli hale gelmektedir. Elitist bir yaşamı önceleyen bu kavram giyim tarzları, yeme-içme kültürü, serbest zamanın nasıl değerlendirilmesi gerektiği, bedenin duruşu ve konuşma şekli gibi birçok yaşam alanını kapsamaktadır. İçselleşen zevk ve beğenilerin toplamından oluşan ve Pierre Bourdieu'nun `Habitus' olarak nitelediği bu yaşam alanı, yaşam kalitesini artırıcı bir sorumluluk taşımaktadır. Yaşam kalitesinin artması ise gösterişçi tüketim ile paralellik göstermektedir. Bu anlamda yaşam tarzının ayrıştırıcı yanı da gündeme gelmektedir. Söz konusu olan bu ayrıştırıcı özellik yaşam tarzının statü belirleyicilerinden biri haline gelmesi sonucunu doğurmuştur. Bu çalışmada da tüketim toplumu bazında yaşam tarzının statü inşasına ve var olan statülerin korunmasına nasıl bir etkide bulunduğu araştırılmıştır. Bu etkinin tespiti olarak da Sabah, Hürriyet ve Zaman gazetelerinin yaşam tarzı ekleri belirlenerek bu eklerin de statü anlamında nasıl bir etkisi olduğu tartışılmıştır. İçerik analizi kullanılarak eklerdeki yaşam tarzı unsurları ve gösterişçi tüketim ile bağıntısı sorgulanmıştır. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | The concept of ?Lifestyle?, which began to assert its influence all across the world in parallel to the rise of consumerism, is increasingly gaining in significance. Prioritising an elitist life, this concept encompasses various aspects of life including dressing styles, eating and drinking culture, making the best of leisure time, posture and manner of speaking. Consisting of a combination of internalised tastes and joys, this living space called `Habitus? by Pierre Bourdieu bears a responsibility for raising the quality of life. The improvement in the quality of life, on the other hand, exhibits parallellism with conspicuous consumption. In this sense, the parsing aspect of lifestyle is comes into play. This parsing feature in question led lifestyle to become one of status determiners. The present study aims to investigate how lifestyle affects status building and preservation of existing status in a consumer society. Lifestyle supplements of the daily newspapers of Sabah, Hürriyet and Zaman were chosen to determine this effect and what kind of an effect these supplements have was discussed in terms of status. Lifestyle components in these supplements and the connection of these components with conspicuous consumption were questioned using content analysis. | en_US |
