8. sınıf öğrencilerinin Türkçe testindeki başarıları ile matematik testindeki başarı düzeyleri arasındaki ilişki

Özet
Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaokul 8. Sınıf öğrencilerinin Türkçe testlerindeki anlama ve çıkarım sorularını çözmeye yönelik becerileri ile Matematik testinde rutin olmayan problem çözme düzeyi arasında ilişkiyi araştırmaktır. Araştırmada belgesel (döküman) tarama yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veriler Konya ili ve ilçesindeki ortaokul 8. Sınıfta öğrenim gören yaklaşık 25 bin öğrencinin başarı testinin sonuçlarını içermektedir. Verilerin analizinde chi-square ve korelasyon analizleri yapılmıştır. Bu analizler sonucunda araştırmanın bulgularına ulaşılmıştır. Uygulanan analiz sonucunda Türkçe testinde başarısı düşük olan öğrencilerin metin problemleri çözmeye yönelik becerilerini yordadığına ilişkin sonuçlar elde edilmiş ve Türkçe testindeki başarısı incelendiğinde metin problemleri çözme üzerinde daha anlamlı bir yordayıcı etkisinin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu durumda Türkçe testinde başarısı düşük olan öğrencilerin anlama düzeyleri düşük olduğundan matematik problemlerini de anlama düzeylerinin düşük, dolayısıyla matematik testinde de başarılarının düşük olmuştur. Türkçe testi başarı yükseldikçe matematik testindeki başarıları da yükselmektedir.
The aim of the research is to determine whether there is a relationship between the 8th grade students' skills in solving comprehension and inference questions in the Turkish tests and the level of non-routine problem solving success in the Mathematics test. Documentary method was used in the research, and the available data consists of the test results of 25 thousand students studying in the 8th grade of secondary school in Konya province and its districts. In the analysis of the data, dependent groups chi square-test and correlation analyzes were performed. As a result of these analyzes, the findings of the research were reached. As a result of the applied analysis, results were obtained that students with low achievement in the Turkish test predicted the skills of solving text problems, and when the achievement in the Turkish test was examined, it was determined that there was a more significant predictive effect on solving text problems. In this case, since the comprehension levels of the students with low achievement in the Turkish test were low, their comprehension levels of the mathematics problems were also low, and therefore their achievement in the mathematics test was also low. As the success in the Turkish test increases, the success in the mathematics test also increases.
