dc.description.abstractUzun yıllar boyunca farklı zorlukları aşarak büyümeye devam eden turizm sektörü, COVID-19 salgını ile daha önce benzeri görülmemiş bir krize girmiştir. Salgın Türkiye'deki turizm şirketlerinin finansal performansını da derinden etkilemiş ve sektör dinamiklerinde önemli değişimlere yol açmıştır. Bazı şirketler kayıpları azaltmak için etkili bir şekilde uyum sağlarken, diğerleri sabit maliyetlerin ve azalan gelirlerin ağırlığı altında mücadele etmiştir. Bu çalışma, turizm sektörünün gelecekteki küresel aksaklıklar karşısında ayakta kalabilmesi için finansal dayanıklılık, stratejik çeviklik ve uzun vadeli planlamanın önemini göstermektedir. Çalışmada, Borsa İstanbul'da işlem gören yedi turizm şirketinin pandemi öncesi (2018-2019) ve pandemi (2020-2023) dönemlerindeki finansal performanslarını TOPSIS yöntemi kullanarak karşılaştırılmıştır. Araştırmanın bulguları finansal performans ölçütleri aracılığıyla şirket dayanıklılığının değerlendirilmenin, dış etkenlere karşı savunmasız sektörlerde çeşitlendirmenin, ihtiyatlı yatırımın, sürdürülebilir finansal stratejilerin, dijital hizmetlerde müşteri odaklı yaklaşımların sistematik riskleri önlemek için turizm şirketlerine yönelik hedefli desteğin önemini göstermiştir.
dc.description.abstractThe tourism sector has continued to grow by overcoming different challenges for many years and has entered an unprecedented crisis with the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic has profoundly impacted the financial performance of tourism companies in Turkey, leading to significant changes in industry dynamics. While some companies adapted effectively to mitigate losses, others struggled under the weight of fixed costs and declining revenues. This study demonstrates the importance of financial resilience, strategic agility, and long-term planning for the tourism sector to survive future global disruptions. The study compares the economic performance of seven tourism companies traded on Borsa Istanbul during the pre-pandemic (2018-2019) and pandemic (2020-2023) periods using the TOPSIS method. The study's findings show the importance of assessing company resilience through financial performance metrics, diversification in sectors vulnerable to external factors, prudent investment, sustainable financial strategies, customer-oriented approaches in digital services, and targeted support for tourism companies to prevent systematic risks.
