dc.description.abstractThe solubility of the Tungbilek lignite is increased up to 100% on daf basis, after molten alkali-benzhydrol treatment. mean-while its oxygen, sulphur and ash-content are decreased considerably. Similar results are also obtained by simple molten alkeli treatment of lignite, although the oxygen content was increased in the product. A reductive cleavege mechanism for the former but an oxydative cleavege mechanism for the latter process are suggested. © 1990, Taylor & Francis Group, LLC. All rights reserved.en_US
