Özet
Adenozin deaminaz (ADA) aktivitesi, tüberküloz menenjitli 14, bakteriyel menenjitli 20 ve menenjit bulgusu olmayan 20 kontrol olgusunun beyin omurilik sıvılarında çalışıldı. En yüksek ADA aktivitesi tüberküloz menenjitli hastalarda (ort 17.95 U/L) gözlendi. Ortalama ADA aktiviteleri, kontrollerde 0.99 U/L ve bakteriyel menenjitli hastalarda 4.31 U/L olarak bulundu. Tüberküloz ve bakteriyel menenjitli hastalarda beyin omurilik sıvısı (BOS) ADA aktivitesi kontrol grubundakine kıyasla istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek bulundu. Ayrıca tüberküloz menenjitli hastaların ADA değerleri bakteriyel menenjitli hasta grubundakine göre de istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede yüksek bulundu.
Adenosine deaminase (ADA) activities were investigeted in the cerebrospinal fluids of 14 patients with tub.erculous meningitis, 20 with bacterial meningitis and 20 control cases without meningitis. The highest ADA activities were observed in patients with tuberculous meningitis (mean 17.95 U/L). The mean ADA levels were found as 0.99 U/L in the control cases and 4.31 U/L in patients with bacterial meningitis. A sta¬tistically significant increase in the activity of ADA was found in cerebrospinal fluids (CSF) of patients with tuberculous meningitis and bacterial meningitis-compared to the control groups. In addition, a statistically sig¬nificant increase in the levels of ADA were found in CSF of patients with tuberculous meningitis compared to the group of bacterial meningitis.
