Özet
Mustafa Kemal Paşa Millî Mücadele döneminde, Türk davasını yabancı gazeteci ve yazarlara da anlatmaya önem vermiştir. Mustafa Kemal Paşa’nın görüştüğü ve yakınlık gösterdiği gazeteci ve yazarlardan birisi de Madam Berthe Georges Gaulis’tir. Gaulis, Millî Mücadele döneminde Türkiye’ye yaptığı seyahatlerin ikisinde Ankara’ya gelerek Mustafa Kemal Paşa ile pek çok görüşme yapmak imkanı bulmuştur. Türk davasına yakınlık gösteren Gaulis’in cephe ve cephe gerisi ziyaretleri ile Ankara temasları, Millî Mücadele hareketinin meşruluğunu tam anlamı ile kavramasına sebep olmuştur. Gaulis, Fransa’da yazarı olduğu gazetelerdeki makalelerinde ve neşrettiği kitaplarında, Türk davasının meşruiyetini, onun lideri olan Mustafa Kemal Paşa’nın faaliyetlerini ve onun hakkındaki izlenimlerini anlatmıştır. Avrupa kamuoyunun bakış açısının Türkiye lehine çevrilmesinde ve Türk-Fransız ilişkilerinin gelişmesinde Gaulis’in faaliyetlerinin önemli katkıları olmuştur.
Mustafa Kemal Pasha considered explaining Turkish struggle to the foreign journalists and authors important in the National Struggle Period. One of these journalists that Mustafa Kemal Pasha met and shown concern for is Madam Berthe Georges Gaulis. Gaulis had the opportunity to meet Mustafa Kemal Pasha when she came to Ankara in her travels to Turkey in the National Struggle Period. Gaulis understood completely the legitimacy of the National Struggle Movement as a result of his visits to front and back side of the front and contacts in Ankara. Gaulis explained the legitimacy of Turkish Struggle, activities of Mustafa Kemal Pasha who is the leader of the Turkish Struggle and his impressions about him in the newspapers in which he wrote and his published books. Gaulis’ activities had important contributions in turning the European public opinion to Turkey’s favor and developing of Turkish-French relations.
