Ebu'l-Atahiye ve şiiri

Birinci Abbasi Dönemi Arap şairlerinden olan Ebu'l-Atahiye'nin asıl adı İsmail b. el- Kasım b. Suveyd b. Keysan el-Anezi'dir. Ebu'l-Atahiye, şairin lakabıdır. Başlıca şiir konuları, medih, gazel, hiciv, zühd ve hikmettir. Halife el-Mehdi'nin cariyesi Utbe için söylediği gazelleriyle meşhur olmuştur. Harun er-Reşid zamanında gazeli terkederek zühd şiirleri söylemeye başlamıştır. Ebu'l-Atahiye, felsefi ve dini mahiyetteki zühd şiirinin gerçek kurucusu olarak kabul edilmiş ve zühd şiiri denildiği zaman akla ilk gelen şair olmuştur. Sufi şairler grubuna girmese de döneminin tipik zahit şairidir. Haksız yere zındıklıkla (Manihaist olmakla) suçlanmıştır. İlhamını Kur'an ve hadislerden aldığı çok sayıda şiiri vardır. İslam inancını hafife alan bir davranışına rastlanmamıştır. Ebu'l-At?hiye'nin şiirlerinin, söyleyiş ve içerik bakımından Türk şairi Yunus Emre'nin şiirlerine benzediği söylenebilir. Şiirleri geniş halk kesimleri tarafından sevilmiş ve bir çoğu da bestelenmiştir

Abu al-Atahiya is one of the First Abbasid Period poets. His full name is Isma?il ibn al- Qasim ibn Suwayd ibn Kaysan al-Anazi. ?Abu al-Atahiyah? is nickname of the poet. His mainly poem subjects are panegyric, ghazal (love poem), satire and ascetic poems. He became famous for his verses, especially for those addressed to Utbah, a concubine of the Abbasid Caliph al-Mahdi. He left ghazal and started to tell ascetic poems in the reign of al-Rashed. He is accepted as the real founder of the religional and philosophical ascetic poem. When it comes to ascetic poem, he occures to us. Abu al-Atahiya was the typical ascetic poet of this period, though he did not belong to the sufi poets. He was accused of being zindiq (Manichaeist) unjustly. He has many poems which drew inspiration from the Quran and hadiths. He has not any behavior that underrates Islamic faith. His poems are said to be similar to the poems of Turkish poet Yunus Emre. Abu al-Atahiya's poetry enjoyed immense popularity and was frequently set to music.
