Özet
Tiroit hormonları ile eser elementler arasında önemli bir ilişki vardır. Hem eser elementler tiroit hormon metabolizmasına karışır, hem de tiroit fonksiyonundaki bozukluklar eser elementlerin kan ve dokulardaki düzeylerini değiştirebilir. Bu çalışmanın amacı da tiroit kanserli hastalarda operasyon öncesi ve sonrası eser elementlerin serumdaki değişikliklerinin araştırılmasıdır. Çalışma 25 kadın ve 25 erkek hasta olmak üzere toplam 50 kişi üzerinde gerçekleştirildi. Çalışmaya alınan denekler toplam 4 gruba ayrıldı. Grup 1:Tiroit kanserli erkek hasta grubu (n=15) Grup 2: Tiroit kanserli kadın hasta grubu (n=15) Grup 3:Erkek Kontrol Grubu (n=10) Grup 4:Kadın Kontrol Grubu (n=10) Grup 1 ve 2'yi oluşturan denekler operasyon sonrası alınan tiroit doku örneklerinde patolojik olarak malignite teşhisi konulan hastalardan oluştu. Grup 3 ve 4'ü oluşturan denekler operasyon sonrası alınan tiroit doku örneklerinde patolojik yönden kanser teşhisi konulmayan hastalardan oluştu. Deneklerin tamamından operasyon öncesi, operasyondan hemen sonra ve operasyondan 15 gün sonra olmak üzere kan örnekleri ile yine tüm deneklerden operasyon sonrası tiroit doku örnekleri alındı. Alınan kan ve tiroit doku örneklerinde atomik emisyon yöntemiyle çinko, selenyum, bakır, demir, magnezyum, mangan, fosfor, kurşun, kobalt, krom, sodyum, potasyum ve kalsiyum düzeyleri tayin edildi. Operasyon öncesi ve operasyondan hemen sonra yapılan ölçümlerde grup 1 ve 2'nin çinko ve selenyum düzeyleri kontrol gruplarından önemli şekilde düşük (P<0.05), tiroit dokusunda ise daha yüksek (P<0.05) bulundu. Operasyondan 15 gün sonra serum çinko ve selenyum düzeyleri kontrol değerleriyle benzerdi. Diğer parametreler gruplar arasında farklılık göstermedi. Çalışmanın sonucunda serumdaki çinko ve selenyum tayininin tiroit kanseri hastaların takibinde önemli olabileceği sonucuna varıldı.
There is a significant relation between thyroid hormones and trace elements. Not only are trace elements involved in the thyroid hormone metabolism, but also thyroid hormone dysfunction can alter the levels of trace elements in the blood and tissues. The present study aims to examine the changes in the serum levels of trace elements before and after the operation in thyroid cancer patients. The study registered 50 individuals, of whom 25 were female and 25 were male. The patients were allocated to four groups: Group 1: Male thyroid cancer patient group (n=15) Group 2: Female thyroid cancer patient group (n=15) Group 3: Male control group (n=10) Group 4: Female control group (n=10) The subjects in groups 1 and 2 were the patients who were post-operatively diagnosed with a pathological malignancy in the thyroid tissue samples. The subjects in groups 3 and 4 were patients who were not diagnosed as cancer pathologically in the thyroid tissue samples collected post-operatively. Blood samples were collected from all subjects before the operation, immediately after the operation, and on the postoperative day 15. Additionally, thyroid tissue samples were taken from all subjects post-operatively. Zinc, selenium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, lead, cobalt, chrome, sodium, potassium, and calcium levels in the blood and tissue samples were determined using the atomic emission method. Zinc and selenium levels of groups 1 and 2 in the pre- and post-operative measurements were significantly lower than those in the control groups (p<0,05), but were higher in the thyroid tissue (p<0,05). Serum zinc and selenium levels measured in the subjects on the postoperative day 15 were similar to those measured in the controls. No difference was found between groups in terms of other parameters.
